  1. On our Spring Break cruise last March I booked day passes to an all inclusive resort through Resort for a Day. It included R/T transportation. We chose the Hilton Rose Hall and had a fantastic day. I traveled with my teenage daughters and one of their friends. I relaxed while the girls enjoyed the beach, pool and lazy river. All food and drinks were included and there were a variety of places to eat at the resort.

Oh wow! Maybe I will look into that. Thank you!

  2. We looked at the Bamboo Beach excursion sponsored through NCL but I read on TripAdvisor that it's over an hour each way by bus - and since we have two small children (3 and 1) that won't work for us. We only considered NCL excursions at this port, again just because of our small kids and what we've read, and since we were planning on three sea days with our old itinerary, we are using this day to relax on ship and possibly check out the pool at Margaritaville within the port area. Good luck!

Oh I seen that Margarittaville at the port! That did look pretty neat. I was wondering about the pool though. Can you just go right up and swim there??

  3. Thank you for all the replies. Appreciate it. I know I said not Dunn's River Fall just because I figured that is the go to excursion and so busy but I may reconsider. Is it really fun to do? The more I am looking at it I think the kids would really like that. We are already going to the beach in Great Stirrup Cay so I am looking for something else other than that.

  4. Any suggestions on what to do here besides Dunn's River Falls? Everyone I spoke with that has been there suggests to stay on the boat. Not much to see and do. Our first time in Jamaica and wanted to see or do something. It will be me, my husband and 6 and 11 year old. Any suggestions would be great!!! Going next month. Only 44 days to go! YAY!!!!

  5. I am so so sorry for hi jacking!!

So amidst my investigations into Coki Beach I came across Coral World and they have a semi submersible tour - I think that's the one you already found huh?

and thank you for bringing this up as I am now booked for my dive lol!

    Hope you get sorted!!

Thank you! Yea I found that one already. I left them a message and email but no return call yet. See what happens. Appreciate It. Enjoy your dive!

  6. My sister in law broke her arm right before her cruise too. She told the doc that it was not gonna stop her from going and he had to do what he had to do to get her on the ship. It was not advised that she go but he did what he needed to do and other than no pool or beach the whole cruise and alittle uncomfortableness she had a great time!!

  7. The red tag is there for your protection. You should be glad they did that. NCL is letting others know that they are monitoring the situation so no one takes your stuff. As long as you stay within the rules, as you did, your stuff didn't get moved, right?

Nothing was moved because we made it back just in time to stop it. Some people were trying to move our towels. We even had our drinks there, lotion, extra towels, pool bag etc etc Was not like we just had towels holding the chairs. My husband was not happy. Like I said, in the pool for a half hour the most. That was the only problem we had. Nothing else after that. Never had a problem getting chairs either but we do get there super early to make sure we do get the chairs.

  8. Yep. Just make sure you've verified that the seat has been unoccupied for over an hour, per NCL's rules. If you remove things sooner than that, you are making your own rules which makes you no better than the chair hogs.

Was just about to say that. Last year on my cruise I came back to people trying to move our towels and we were in the pool for literally 20 minutes. Ridiculous. Oh and I had a red tag on the seat with a time they came by. WE WERE JUST IN THE POOL WITH OUR KIDS!!

  9. Just packed for cruise tomorrow and hubs asked about weight limit for luggage. Looked it up on NCL and low and behold it looks like there is a 50 lb weight limit. So how strict are they? We weighed our luggage and it is about 55 lbs. Do they actually weigh the luggage? Never seen that before but then again, this is our first time on NCL. Thanks guys in advance. Appreciate it.

  10. I know The Baths are very popular and a lot of people love visiting. To be completely honest, we were underwhelmed by the entire experience. Would definitely not do it again.

There were several people on the hike through the rocks and water that were in no way phyiscally fit enough to be attempting the trek down. Then there were others that were basically having to hold or carry their small kids. It looked miserable for them. One older man slid down a rock on a his rear and ended up with a nasty gash in his calf. Even on the way back up through the path, people were struggling due to the small elevation change. I usually dismiss the cruise line's difficult ratings on excursions, but I feel they don't properly do this one justice. I'd consider myself in far better shape than most and I still worked up a sweat. We didn't get in the water but there were a lot of kids swimming. It also gets very crowded once a second wave of people and the snorkeling boats arrive.

If you're just looking for a nice beach and swimming, I would suggest something like Cane Garden Bay or Smuggler's Cove. Both are beautiful, easy to get to, and you would have a much more relaxing day.

Thank you! We may just do that. I will look that up. Appreciate it. Hubs and I might do The Baths on our next trip without the kids ;)
