  1. So, there was a thread not to long ago that you could no longer just get the basic soda package. I read through all the comments and I am still confused. Everybody had something different to say. Does anyone know the real deal with this? My husband had the soda package last cruise and plans on getting it again. Does not want the water, juice etc etc....just the soda. Is this still available? Gosh I hope so. Thanks!

  2. Ok, Im confused about something.....sorry! OP said that you have to check out towels. When we were on Allure we had to scan our seapass card and was able to get towels. No problem, no big deal. But, she said something about $25.00. So, am I getting this right.....when you check towels in and out they charge $25.00 one time then you get it back? I don't remember being charged at all to be honest when we were on the Allure but it was two years ago so who knows. Or do they charge everytime you check out/check in towels. I remember my hubby and I checking out and checking in towels ALOT.....that would be expensive after awhile. Sorry if I sound stupid...just curious if it is a one time charge?

  3. I was looking on the passport website to try and figure out what I need to do to update my name due to marriage. I noticed something about a passport card. It is a heck of alot cheaper to get then a passport book. Can you use this as part of the passport requirements to travel? I was going to use my husbands and two kids birth certificates but this seems better to have, if it can be used to travel on the ship instead. Anyone know??

  4. Thanks Deanna 41 and Topnole!!!! I can't wait to go. Hubby has definately turned around on our decision to take Freedom. After reading comments on here back to him, he seems to feel better about the ship. He just really really LOVED the Allure and did not want to be disappointed by going on another ship. We will have a great time!!! The kiddos are gonna have a blast!!!

  5. Wow!!!! That is all I can really say right now.......wow!!!! Just to make things clear here (Sherlock), I am not forcing my husband to go on Freedom. We agreed to go on the ship because it was the most cost effective for us and our two kids. After the booking was done he started looking up the ship, things to do etc etc.......It was after the booking and researching of the ship is when he started with his "Im not sure I am gonna like Freedom as much as the Allure" thing and thought maybe we should cancel Freedom and go on the Allure instead. It was at this point that I was sticking to OUR original decison to go on Freedom. So, I asked people on here for some good things about the ship to relay back to him so I can stop hearing about Allure Allure Allure. Geeeeeesh!!!!!

And to everyone else, sorry about this. Did not think it was going to start anything. So crazy!! And also, a big THANK YOU because I think he feels much better about OUR decison to go on it.

  6. Sherlock......there is nothing going on. Not quite sure what you mean by that. Plain and simple....he wants to go back on the Allure because he loved it so much and I want to go on the Freedom......A)it was a heck of alot cheaper and B)it is a new ship and a new experience. He seems to have it in his head he will not like Freedom as much as he liked Allure and all I wanted was some words of encouragement from people that have already been on that ship.

  7. Love hearing all your responses about Freedom!!! Making me so excited!! BUT, I still have 6 1/2 months!! GRRRRRRRRRR. Yea know, now that I think about it, (of course I have nothing to compare since Allure was our first) there was not a whole heck of alot of ocean viewing anywhere when you were inside the ship. That makes it seem so much better to go to a specialty restaurant and have an ocean view. Tip I will have to pass along to hubby!!! Im gonna have to read your comments to him. You guys are great!!!

  8. Honestly, he never mentions the ports so he is basing this all off the ship itself. I guess I just don't understand him right now. We have never been on Freedom (or any other ship other than the Allure OR any other cruise line for that matter) so he can't say we won't like it. I wish I could understand where he is coming from (yea know, the whole "look through his eyes" kind of deal) but it just annoys me that he is acting like this. If we go on and don't like it then we don't go on Freedom again. But, we can't just limit ourselves to one ship everytime we cruise. The whole excitement is going in different ships, different ports etc etc....
