  1. Hi Our ship will be in Cozumel during our cruise from 7 to 5pm. Is there time to go do a snorkeling excursion and then go to a day pass resort? (Allegro resort) Thxs Pat and Kris
  2. I have just snorkeled Tahiti and Moorea. Tahiti is not worth it. Moorea is just pure paradise. Tons of coral and fish in 1 foot of water. I saw a manta ray too. Pat
  3. Hi Will be docked at Punta Langosta beginning of October. What’s really important: Snorkeling off beach, tropical setting, nice pools, not crowded. Not important: All you can eat or drink (It’s ok if included but buy a la carte would be ok too). Definitely not wanted: Party, dancing, loud music atmosphere. Thxs Pat and Kris
  4. Hi 3rd time cruiser. MSC Seaside in the fall. we are watching lots of videos. In Costa-Maya we will go straight to the ruins, they say where we will go there is only a very expensive little to go food place. we were planning on bringing snacks in our back pack. The videos say no fruits, veggies, cheese or meats on land. Fair enough. But they say dry goods are ok??? Can i grab potatoe chips, cookies, pastries for example? The snacks would be only for the Costa-Maya stop. Thxs
  5. Hi We are doing an excursion first but would like to snorkel off a beach after. Pay a beach pass is fine but not looking to drink or eat all day. Snorkeling is the goal. I do understand seaweed can be a problem so maybe someone knows a good spot. Thxs a lot Pat
  6. Hi This gets great reviews all over. Can ayone tell me what you see when you snorkel? Few mention it on tripadvisor but nobody says how good it is. That’s the tie breaker if we do this or the ruins. Thxs
  7. Is your post cut at the end?
  8. Thank-you, it’s very helpful. Pat
  9. Will do, thxs so much! Pat
  10. Could you recommend some shore spots to snorkel? with a beach bar is fine as long as no harassment by sellers. Thxs
  11. That’s cheap. How long was the actual time in the water? was it clear with lots of fish and corals. Thxs
  12. Also any tips on shore or excursion for snorkeling? I saw like 4 dive shops in a very nice youtube video in Majahual but the person never commented or went close up on them. They got to have snorkeling tours too. Thxs
  13. Thanks so much for all the help, it helps. Pat
  14. Hi We are cruising in October. One stop is Costa Maya. we watched several youtube videos and are not too impressed so need opinions here. most youtubers get scammed there, so renting a cart and go around alone like we wanted to do is out of the question. people rent carts with some beach access included and when there, they ask for $10 extra for the beach. You park your cart in plein sight while you enjoy a drink at a cafe 20 feet from it, upon leaving they ask for money since they watched the cart??? Bar bill should be $70 and becomes $100 for no reasons and still have to tip 15-20%. We like to snorkel, a youtuber mentioned a nice place close by free from a beach. i wonder if it’s a good idea, but $4 cab ride each way is nice. The cruise has a tour which i would like to get some feedback here if possible. The ruins would be ok but 2 hours in a van is long, and it’s not cheap ($120). we don’t drink during the day to just hang out somewhere and drink 15 margaritas LOL A nice resort pool or beach or both would be nice with a fee of course ($50?). Maybe less harassment if in a resort. Last year we went to the DR. The resort had ropes on the beach with discreet security there. Nobody gets through. We don’t mind spending money, are good tippers but no suckers. we love meeting locals when abroad but it just ruins the experience to get scammed or harassed. Thxs for the help Pat and Kris
  15. Thxs everyone, you answered all my questions! Pat
  16. Hi About to book on the MSC Seaside. I read a bunch of threads about tipping. Lots of fighting in tipping threads it seems. I read the MSC tipping page but have simple questions. The cruise will add the tipping which i can pay during booking or at the end. what is the rate? we have an easy drink plus package, I understand tipping is included in the price of the package. Is this correct? I m not asking if i can, cannot, should, shouldn’t tip extra. I keep that for myself as i don’t want to get into fights which are surprisingly common on this subject. Thxs a lot Pat and Kris
  17. Yes i just found out about it too. They also have a catamaran excursion and they stop on a shallow reef, you see stingrays. I think i overheard the crew say they can go in the water not passed a certain rock. Looking into it right now. Thxs for the help 👍🏻 Pat
  18. Boring to us without snorkeling. 1 hour ok but that’s it. We like activities. But there are excursions. Pat
  19. Oh wow ☹️ Well i guess i will snorkel that spot and done. No fishing either, huh! Beach all day, for 2 days ☹️ Thxs so much, I might book another cruise that stops there only one day. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  20. Hi We are about to book a MSC cruise that will stop 2 days at ocean cay. We love snorkeling so looking to really organize this. 1) Do they have paying snorkeling excursions on this island? 2) How is the snorkeling off the beaches? I saw an underwater video by a cruiser and was not too impressed. Sandy bottom with a couple schools of 1 foot long fish. There is also what seems to be a shark net in the water, am I right? The person says the beach right off the cruise ship is the best for snorkeling. If that's it, I might just hang out at the bar LOL 3) Can if fish? (Catch and release). We will have our own snorkeling gear, so no worries there. Thxs a lot
  21. Any tips where to subscribe for last minute deals? Caribbean cruises. Thxs Pat
