  1. Either way maybe you can ask if they plan to do Grand Gala Buffets I say either way as I went back to an e-mail I had received awhile back and it had said Gala Buffets were on cruises great than 12 days with at least 4 sea days. I believe your cruise is 11 nights. With that said this new day and a new era. Keith
  2. Thanks for sharing this. I've seen a number of photos from other guests and crew and Captain Vincent was right about the conditions for sure. Keep enjoying the cruise. Keith
  3. A view of Serenity on August 3 from atop the downtown area of Portofino. Keith
  4. No idea as the cruises to date were port intensive so even old Crystal wouldn't have had them for those. Keith
  5. It's funny. We had a hot dog there just because. Mind you. that is a rarity for me. I don't think we've had a hot dog out in years. For me I remember the days of Nathan's Hot Dogs (not the ones you buy but at a Nathan's) which was about two miles from our home growing up (sadly closed) which to me was much better than this one. But, we can say we checked this off our list if we ever had a list for hot dogs which we don't. Now Pizza. That is another story but Iceland isn't a place we'll be having pizza out. Keith
  6. Pat, I know that old Crystal for Endeavor used Hotel Borg. We stayed there post cruise booking it on our own. Hotel is in a good downtown location. I am not sure if new Crystal is using this hotel but I would think there is high probability they are. Keith
  7. Maybe it's me but I get what was the former page but if I click on a topic it says page is not available on the web because access is forbidden.I didn't try every topic but tried four different ones. Keith
  8. Oh yes. My comments were not at all saying that you provided much in the way of details it was just a reminder not to take what you posted and start mentioning names.Sadly, someone who posts on this board on another board mentioned a persons name and they lost out on a promotion as the cruise line they were working on read the post. I enjoy your posts. 😀 Keith
  9. This is the season in Miami folks. Anne Marie and I have been staying in Miami pretty often in December and/or January. Pricing will be higher then and the ships are just a small factor for this. I've been there with two ships in port or seven (don't think I remember 8 but that is possible for WC 2015 and the cruise before that with one of them having a tent rather than a building). I looked at pricing for that weekend versus often when we come before the holiday cruise and some hotels are less expansive, about the same or more. If you want an easy selection just go to the Marriott site as they own tons of them from the airport to downtown., etc. In fact, I just saw a reasonably priced one they have near Brickell downtown. Or if you are debarking that day get a flight. But get one 1;00 PM or later to be on the safe side and all the better if you have Clear or Global Entry. Book a room now and just keep checking prices. booked a room for a cruise and as is often the case they now added a promotion and I could actually add two nights and saved money as the additional two nights took the total price down. Go figure. As to flights they are funny. Had to update the outbound flight and no change. But one day I look at the same R/T and the total price went up $1,500.00 per person. Like that for a couple of days and the a day later price is what it was. Anyway, Miami has lots of hotel rooms. If you want to pay higher price come for New Years Eve. Keith
  10. The old archives for former Crystal Cruises which includes Endeavor and the other history is no longer available since this new board was created. Keith
  11. Another view of Serenity in Monte Carlo. I was shooting into the sun which is never good but had no choice unless I stuck around for awhile. Keith
  12. Three returning CD's CD Rick, Russ and Raphael. I urge everyone not to speculate on anyone not announced. I am not sure if people know but someone who used to be a frequent posted on this board mentioned on another board that someone was returning and that person would have received a promotion on the cruise line they were working on and lost out on it. So always best not to post about others unless they have said it's OK or Crystal has announced it IMHO. Keith

    Formal Night

Greg seven or more is what the site says. There could be exceptions as is the case with the September 18 Symphony cruise which is 8 days but because it is port intensive they decided no formal night. We have asked them to add this type of information to the My Account planner to make it easier for people to plan. Keith
  14. I did most of my posts on CC and another forum and my blog almost exclusively outside in the back of the ship. Internet was great on the first two voyages and overall the best since we've sailed Crystal. Keith
  15. For future reference if it is on Deck 10 it is a classic. Deck 10 contains the original PH's (now called Aquamarine), the original PS's (now called Sapphire) and the original CP's). Keith
  16. Most of the photos are from my iPhone. I do love the SLR but the last time I took with with me was NWP in 2016. The benefit was for the long range photos but it can be a lot of weight to carry around. Keith
  17. The two types are as follows Classic which used to be called PH Suites. They are on Deck 10. Aquamarine which were constructed in 2017 and used to be Called Sea Breeze. They are on Deck 9. Classic have a bathtub. The ones created in 2017 have a rain shower and no tub and are more contemporary looking. I only have three photos of the Sea Breeze as when I was last on Symphony I had what was a Seabreeze but now part of the Sapphire family. I think there are pros and cons for the two types on Symphony and could go either way. On Serenity I don't care for the former SeaBeeze and like the Classic Aquamarine. Hopefully someone has more photos on the Aquamarine from 2017 to expand on the three I've posted as well as the Classic. Keith Keith
  18. Yes. I had posted about the deck stewards visiting each of these areas in addition to the pool deck to ask if there is anything guests need such as drinks. Keith
  19. I have many photos of Serenity while in Monaco. Some from the street level and others from areas elevated. This one is from August 2 of this year. Keith
  20. The aft is one of those places where because they don't have rooms like some ships do (suites with oversized verandahs) that space is available for everyone to enjoy. But few people go out there so it's like having a ship to yourself. To me it's like when they don't build condominiums to block the view of a beautiful beach area so everyone can enjoy the view whereas some places allow tall buildings to be built so the only people who can enjoy the views are the owners of the condominiums. Yes to chairs and lounge chairs and a couple of tables on most decks and many of the loungers were new. Keith
  21. Vince, unless there is a surprise. they will not split up the old casino area to use part of it for a casino due to technical reasons. Stay turned. Keith
  22. Rmrands, I agree that is one of several potential uses for the Lounge. All we know is that the new casinos will happen in 2024. A specific date/location has to be firmed up. While they have ideas on placement they need to understand the logistics of all of this. Sometimes one things something will work but a ship has challenges just like an existing building thing has. It will not go back in the former locations. As noted on another site, they took up a huge amount of space, often were not used much, required a lot of electricity and that high end cruise lines do not make money with a casino. Rather the concessionaires do. In time you will see the lounge utilized quite a bit as they finalize plans for their use. On Serenity while we were on board they placed games in the lounge and it was also used to check in guests when the gangway is located on Deck 6 for embarkation. I suspect it won't be very long until you see them being used quite a bit. In the meantime, Anne Marie and I enjoyed the seating sometimes going there before dinner rather than a lounge. Keith
  23. Unless you are in a suite with a coffee maker and other than room service it would be in a dining venue that you are dining at. Keith
  24. Glad to see so many of you have cruises booked with Crystal. We do too. I will post as we get closer to our next one this year. Nice that some of you have not sailed with Crystal for awhile. As to the ships when people ask me what is your favorite ship or our favorite Crystal Cruise this one is easy to answer. It's the one we are on. We have cruises booked over the next 16 months on both ships. Great to be sailing with Crystal again. Keith
