Not sure why this is a surprise. Cunard (in the Carnival family) announced the extended delay a couple of hours ago. Carnival announced it 20 minutes ago...now HAL. Why the dramatic headline?
It wasn’t meant to be dramatic. I just didn’t want a misunderstanding since this came from Carnival, not Carnival Corp.

Given the Zaandam passenger deaths just announced on HAL's blog, I doubt corporate will make future cruise announcements today.
Carnival has already announced that their announcement has been postponed until Monday.

All that has been said is Carnival cruise lines. It may or may not include Carnival Corp’s other branded cruise lines. Personally, I think it will cover all the brands but, that is only MY opinion.

Still don’t know if it will pertain to HAL or not.

I agree....potentially there may not even be any cruises by the end of the year...what happens then?
-
You don’t know that anymore than I do. Why not just see. You’ve waited this long....

Patience is the word right now. Getting all worked up about something you have no control over makes no sense. Things will work out.

I would wait and see what comes out by Friday when their announcement is due.

I am certainly not scared to live, but people like you scare me. I live in an area that has no virus. I am not going anywhere. What if I am a carrier? I could have been exposed a month ago and not know it. I do not want to infect any family or friends. This will not be calmed down by Easter and I doubt by May. Please don’t be irresponsible with your life and the lives of others. This is a time to think about everyone.

My Apr 22 TA Still shows as sailing...no way that will happen.

Everyone needs to be prepared to wait. I can’t imagine the stacks of credits they are dealing with.

Not sure why you would add another element to the equation. This is all going to take time. You have 90 days to dispute the charges if it comes to that...

I really hate to see people expecting extra for compensation in this situation. This is no one’s fault. I will be happy to get a FCC or refund...whatever they decide. I am just hoping they don’t have to declare bankruptcy...then you get nothing.

It will be almost impossible for HAL or any other cruise line to give cash back to everyone.

I hate to tell you, but there is no way the cruise lines are going to be able to refund all the money on every canceled cruise. I anticipate that most will be receiving FCC.
-
I am not surprised. I fully expect that to happen with all cruise lines.
-
Honestly, now that flights from Europe have been cancelled I look for cruises to be cancelled, too. This may be a mute point.

Cruisegirl, I have seen several articles about those ports not allowing ships to dock. Also that if they do dock they are checking passports to see your recent history.
We are scheduled on the Veendam TA 4-22 to 5-23. Not really afraid to go...just not wanting a cruise to nowhere. This would be our first trip to Europe and we really want to see these places. We will wait till the last week of the month to decide. They may even cancel by then...it is anyone’s guess...

Guess I never noticed but I color my hair and have used it on all our cruises...one every year for 6 years...some 30 days and longer. I still have my hair...lol

If I want to buy any of the internet plans before the cruise can I have them charged to my OB account or do I have to pay for them at the time of purchase?
Getting refund on unused FCD? (not FCC)

If we choose to cancel totally will those be refunded or put back on our account to be used later? If we choose to take a FCC will the deposit go back to a FCD?
