Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Which carnival ships, and what VPN protocol? I’m using Cisco anyconnect client.
  2. Your response was that carnival would not allow full bottle purchase. Not only do they allow it, but they give a 25% discount. Just plain bad info.
  3. If you really have celiac, you are taking a pretty big risk sailing on a cruise. Even though they may offer food that is traditionally gluten free, like corn tortillas for instance, there is no way for you to know if the equipment used to make them was also used to make items containing gluten. I have a close friend who has it and he would be very sick if exposed to even trace amounts of gluten. Of course, if someone is avoiding gluten for “health benefits” (lol) then they’ll be fine.
  4. i am saddened how people post opinions as if it was fact. Carnival does in fact allow purchase of full bottles and does in fact offer a 25% discount for cheers package guests. Since the wine package saves you “up to” 25%, it’s actually cheaper to buy bottles individually through the cheers discount.https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3525/~/cheers!-beverage-program-q%26as#:~:text=The program does include a,at a 25 percent discount.
  5. It’s not burnt, that was repaired after the fire. I just got off a couple of weeks ago and it’s soot. The stack is an improvised design and the tail will be replaced in the fall of this year. It is a smaller, older ship but I found the staff to be among the best in the fleet.
  6. They most certainly will not provide anyone with items that are specifically banned as electrical/fire hazards, like electric kettles, however hot water is always available 24/7 on the lido deck. Bring a thermal mug with a lid for safety.
  7. Maybe the OP knows what they want. Who are you to criticize? “Hint of citrus”, lol.
  8. Slow I can live with. I only have to download/upload data. The actual work is on my laptop.
  9. This is good info. Yes I plan on premium, and only use the VPN for source control commits and clones. Everything else is 2fa, so I’ll need to make sure my phone is connected and use that hotspot as advised. Thanks!
  10. Due to a family emergency, I am short on PTO this year. I’d like to work from the ship at least one day, but require a VPN connection and have read that the official carnival policy is that VPN is not supported. Has anyone tried to connect to VPN and if so, what was the outcome? I’ll probably bring my laptop anyway as a experiment but it’d be encouraging to hear if anyone has had success.
