  1. Hello all, absolutely horrible here, chucking it down! I was going to walk down to my local shops and get a birthday card and my prescription is ready at the chemist. It’s only about a 7 minute walk but I will get drenched! When John gets home we’re intending on going to B&Q to get some matchpots so I’m going to get him to stop at the shops on the way!
  2. Hello all, I’ve had a good weekend even though John has been working. Our son, partner and grandson came over about 3pm after John was home from work yesterday and we ordered takeaway pizza. We also had made salads and flatbread. Our grandson loves tomatoes, cucumber, raw peppers etc so he was happy. So funny our son was telling him after a while he couldn’t had anymore salad and to eat more pizza! Apparently he’d be hungry later otherwise and he’d had loads of grapes last time he was here and got a delicate tummy! Oops! I got presents of tulips, chocolates and wine 😊 Today my sister and brother in law came up and picked my mum up then me and we had lunch out. Then they came back here for coffee. That was nice, I got to see mum but didn’t have to go to the home! They then dropped her off on their way back to the motorway!
  3. How lovely to be surprised by your daughter in Lisbon! Great having an overnight in port too.
  4. Morning all. Goodness Brian, what a story! Surprised to hear you’re selling your place in Italy but your reasons make sense! I, too, thought that was a strange ‘Long lost family’ where they contacted the ‘donor’ fathers, that wasn’t what they signed up for! Even though the siblings got on well together they weren’t siblings in the true sense of the word! Our council doesn’t charge for collecting garden rubbish here but they’re ‘broke’ so perhaps they will soon 🙄
  5. And so many posters who don’t normally post on this board!
  6. I’ve just caught up on the last few days and see from ‘elsewhere’ that Aurora is safely back in Southampton. Thanks again for all the effort put in, safe journey home. I shall look forward to the summing up.
  7. 😁 You’ve answered yourself there! Yes, do all the checking in then you see your boarding time. Luckily I’ve saved our photos we did for our post 2020 cruises so I’ve just used the same ones. I haven’t printed out the boarding pass yet but it makes it such a quick process in the terminal if it’s all done first.
  8. Aww sorry to hear you’re a bit down, I love Liverpool, so much to see and do there! Have a good day x
  9. On the subject of Cathedrals, being a Kent girl I’ve been to Canterbury a few times but a couple of years ago John and I decided to visit while we were shopping there. I can’t remember how much it was but we were shocked- and didn’t go in! Much nearer to home is Rochester and I’m pleased to say they still don’t charge. We were very impressed when we visited the Anglian cathedral in Liverpool a few years ago, such a huge building and a very nice atmosphere. We were prepared to pay the small charge to go up the tower but the man taking the money advised us against it as it was a rainy day and he said we wouldn’t get a good view! We were so impressed with his honesty we spent lots in the cafe and shop 😁
  10. A very early morning all! I woke up at 3am, went downstairs to get a drink than remembered check in opens today for our Aurora short cruise at Easter! So I checked in and have an embarkation time of 12-45!! I’m very happy with that, never had that early before 😁😁 So now I’m wide awake and excited!
  11. Yes it’s really expensive now. We are indeed going on a cruise 😁
  12. Many congratulations on your lovely news @SarahHben ! Re the hotels, I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn by the terminals once and it’s so close to everything in town. I was shocked at the price this year so we’re staying at the one near the cricket ground in June! At Easter we’re staying at the Hilton overlooking the cricket ground itself, looking forward to that!
  13. I’ve just looked at my photos - Cafe Jardin 😁
  14. Yes it was something to do with Gino de Campo when we were onboard but I can’t remember the name! I loved the view looking over the gorgeous atrium.
  15. I loved the Italian on Oceana in the atrium, breakfast and lunch was free! Supplement for the evening.
  16. When it first started the Beach House was Italian (and free!) on Azura and Ventura. How we miss it!
  17. I’m a bit late to this thread, but I’m enjoying it, thanks. Looking forward to the next instalment.
  18. Great photos and write ups thanks Tiger. Your Lass was truly spoilt on her birthday.
  19. Afternoon all. Had a good day yesterday, had our grandson for a couple of hours yesterday morning then visited Mum after lunch. Today we went up Bluewater this morning but couldn’t get much that I wanted so were home by 1-30pm. John got a new dress shirt though. I’m not getting adverts on my phone but I do have an ad blocker on it!
