We had the opposite experience in April on the Grandeur. Our OBC was split and we both had to go to guest services to transfer it all into one. I currently have our account on our Oct cruise as a cash account and I will pay for my DW. So sometime during the cruise we will head down to guest services and sort everything out.
-
You have to withdrawal it from the Casino not Guest services? And it's a hit or miss if you pay the 5% surcharge. Things to keep in mind. Thanks everyone who has given their feedback. Our cruise isn't for another 7 weeks so we will report back our experience with the OBC.
-
So the consensus is, if you have purchased an OBC then when checking in, check in as a cash account. On our Grandeur cruise, our OBC didn't appear on our account until the next day. When you check in, do you have to give them cash to start your account?

End of August is quickly approaching and still no word on Rich Edwards?
-
Maybe it could be Rich Edwards if he is able to return by October.
Fingers crossed for this!!! We missed Rich on the Grandeur this year and would love to see him on the Serenade! :)

I don't call Gifts and Gear, I call the C&A number and talk to someone there. I wonder if that makes a difference or not.

Needed to transfer some money to the US and was really sad. I purchased $500 USD for $672.85 CDN. Why can't Royal offer a banking service???
-
Hmmmm new credit card cycle coming up. Won't have to pay for it until the beginning of October. I think I will purchase another OBC.

We'll go with the ship docking at the port of Sydney. Maybe it was a one off thing as someone has suggested, maybe she had too much Screech that morning with her coffee. :D
-
Thank you everyone for the replies - we were hoping that She was wrong as the North Sydney dock was too far from town!

Hi
A cousin out in Neil's Harbour had mentioned to us that the cruise ships are now docking on the west side of the harbour in Sydney. Can anyone confirm this as the Port of Sydney website does not really give any information about that.
Thanks

From our cruise in April, we had no problems receiving our $500 US OBC, however they split it between my DW and I equally in our folios.

If you are in Saint John, hit Steamers for lobster. If you in St. John's then you have to walk George St.

Hello
We are stopping here on our way down the Ft lauderdale and will be in port from 7am to 9pm. What is the easiest and cheapest way of getting from the port to downtown around Boston Common or Quincy Market? Any help with private tours or "must see and do" would be appreciated. We have been here for a Bruins game and did the duck tour so we are a little familiar with the area.
Thanks

We were on the Grandeur back in April and they said that Rich Edwards was to return sometime this month. I see you are looking for an update on his situation but has anyone heard anything about his return?
Thanks
-
I just chatted with Richard Edwards he still recovering most likely he will return in June
Thanks for the update on Rich, I hope he is feeling better soon.
-
We will also be going in a couple of weeks but want to know the big question. Did they have escargot?
Also did you eat at any of the specialty dinning restaurants? How were they?
-
Does anyone have any news on how Rich Edwards is doing and when he will be back? We were really hoping he would make back on the Grandeur for our April 10 sailing, but it looks like we will be out of luck, but we hope he is doing okay.

What kind of room do you have? Tons of room in a JS. A little less in a Balcony room

Lunch?!?! Forget the ship, when in Juneau you have to go to Tracy's crab shack. It will be the best lunch you ever have.

We have not seen any Canadian diamonds on any RCI ships we've been on recently.

Yes your CA&A status is on your Set Sail pass. It is in a box and signified by 2 letters. Example is our Set Sail says DP (Diamond Plus)

Thanks for all the help and support, I finally got someone to give me the credit! Yeah! I purchased $500 ship credit for $550 Canadian. But as I mentioned while I was on the phone with this gentleman he did say that they had a meeting about the exchange rates but the mucky mucks would get back to them so I see this loop hole closing soon.
Again thanks for everyone's input and support. Now my DW can get that spa appointment she's always wanted.

It might be too late. The guy I'm talking to says they had a meeting about this but checking to see what the out come was. If you got it early enough way to go

Unless someone here has done it, I would suggest calling Royal and ask them.
