  1. Will be embarking on May 28 from Port Everglades to Dublin. There are 3 formal nights out of 2 weeks. The vessel is the Shadow. The itinerary is not very port intensive, Newfoundland is on the itinerary. While my husband really doesn’t like to dress “up”, we respect that many pax on Silversea do like to and we will adhere to the code or eat in our suite or at the Grill. That also means that one is precluded from the public venues, the show lounge/bar/ etc., post dining at the Grill unless properly attired as per the dress code.
  2. I think the message is hope for early boarding but be prepared if you have to wait. A lot of uncertainty.
  3. And now, the weather from the peninsula. Looking east to the Bahamas is some pattern of circulation. Weather forecasters have it as low probability of developing into anything like a storm. And hurricane season doesn’t start until June 1st. 😆 A week to go… perhaps pack a rain poncho
  4. The pros, great digs. Huge space. Privacy. The cons. Big suites in the bow are apt to have anchor noise. On port intensive cruises you will be awakened to the anchor noise. In addition you must keep your drapes closed at night so as not to interfere with the computer system that “mans” the ship. And then if there is rocking and rolling, you too will be.
  5. Happy anniversary Mysty and Myster….on to 46!!!
  6. Remember you will only have shadows when your life is full of sun…here’s to the Shadow.
  7. Windsor I have been to Newfoundland several times. Be prepared for cold wet rainy foggy or beautiful but chilly sunshine. We will enjoy no matter the weather. Looking forward to hearing you sing some of the music from the show!!!
  8. I know. Not yet May 28th. Time to get out the sailbags. Another Spinnaker run.
  9. Thank you Fletcher for sharing your trip with us. I savored each delicious post that you authored. A treat.
  10. The dreaded COVID changed many things. And no luggage tags sent beforehand anymore. You will get them at embarkation.
  11. Pre cruise we stayed at the JW Marriott. Since we have been to Venice a few times we were happy to be away from the crowds on a private island. Sunsets exquisite at the roof bar. On a working trip a few years ago I rented an apartment on the first floor of a garden courtyard. We were surrounded by lavender and other aromatic herbs. Heavenly perfumed air, but no room service. We lived like Venetian’s for a week. I worked during the day and DrSpins played. If you are adventurous do some research about apartments to rent.
