  1. Many of the photos are recognizable from past “coffee table marketing brochures”. At least they are being recycled. I have mixed emotions about the use of paper and ink. I am capable of going online and perusing without the printed paper. I also was quoted savings in AUD$. Never yet been to Australia but its sure on my list. Maybe its incentive to go there? Wow, subtle.
  2. The Orthodox Church is worth visiting, the building is stark against the landscape and you get to dodge the eagles as you walk up. Our guide related some of the recent poignant and painful history of WWII when many of the locals were relocated to “camps”, prompting me to buy the book “When the wind was a river”. There are still bunkers around the town. The horizon is dotted with volcanic cones with blown out tops which surround the harbor. These speak to the highly volatile Ring of Fire.
  3. I have been to Dutch Harbor on an expedition ship, which was small. We just managed to squeeze in amongst the other vessels. I was intrigued so did look up the port and it appears only one cruise ship can dock if at all. In my elder mindstate I often do not recall size correctly. In this instance I recalled the available dockage space as “small” so that is why I wondered if cruise ships tender. It is a busy port.
  4. It's an off the menu item. Someone said it's on the online menu. Or it comes from kaiseki Try and order it!!!
  5. You can order your pizza to be customized. I like to have some rochetta added on top just before serving. And order a small pizza or a calzone! I think the pizza is terrific. And yes reflective of the Neapolitan restaurant. But not like Pepe’s from New Haven. You can order anything you’d like that is not on the menu 24 hours in advance. You can order a dinner party for your group and work with the chef/MD/your butler to tailor it to your liking, but you will need to give advance notice. The hamburgers are pretty awful IMO. Instead if i fancy a sandwich, I have ordered the fish of the day broiled and put it on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato or cole slaw. I see that Poke bowls or sushi bowls are now offered at the pool grill as well.
  6. Dutch Harbor is pretty small. Was it a tender port?
  7. And what would Camilla say…
  8. I am usually awake at 430 am so I watched it. I won’t be around for the next coronation, I didn’t see the last one. Regal and regalia. OMG the bijoux. The fascinators. The history. The magnificent steeds pulling the carriage. Louis stole the show! His interpretations of the royal wave, he’s quite the personality. Appears that the Wale’s were late by three minutes and the King was not pleased at all, since he was to enter the Abbey last. He had some strong words to say inside the carriage while he waited. Then after he was anointed with the oil, he had trouble with his shirt and gold robe. The shirt was gaping at his midsection and he kept trying to fix it without seeming to fix it. Had a bit of trouble putting on his glove. Those fabulous red arrows in the HawkT1’s…the take off in groups of three.
  9. Don’t forget to take this too, it looks swell with just socks.
  10. Bombas and bombastic
  11. Avec vos chausettes bien sur
  12. Stumble, I had enough corks to build an ark. Two years ago I made Christmas wreaths out of corks for gifts which depleted my supply. I have been diligently working to replenish the supply since then as I fear with climate change, we may need that ark sooner rather than later.
  13. What’s the shot glass for? Other than the obvious…
  14. Mysty, that’s my next project! Love the chair.
  15. I cleaned off my readers several times. It didn’t help.
  16. Fletcher, the asparagus were delightful. Just as your posts. Thank you.
  17. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. Also looking up your address so I can venture into your asparagus patch. I will keep it weeded. :-))
  18. That wabbit also stopped Niagara Falls in the same cartoon
  19. Wabbits are harmless…No bounty on them
