Just a personal opinion, but I would not like to stay in them.  I like being mid to aft, not so far forward.  My husband's son is staying in the very front on a cruise in Jan when we all go together, so will be interesting to see their cabin and see how he likes being right in front of the ship

Can I ask why?  I've only been on 3 cruises - so not terribly familiar with the differences.  Rocking of the boat maybe?  Or just ease of getting around?

  2. I have a very similar post.  I can't offer any recommendations.  I was looking for feedback from anyone who has stayed in the new staterooms on Deck 11.  But I think it's going to be really cool to be that close to the pool, and the solarium in between will be a good buffer for the noise (I hope).  Plus they are brand new.  I have an inside stateroom booked for next June.

  3. I was just wondering why the price was so different between May and June on a 7 night cruise out of New Orleans in 2020.  In May it's $510 per person  In June, it goes up to $731 per person.  What am I missing.  Is the weather drastically different or something?

  4. I'm booked in one of then the new staterooms on Deck 11 for the 8/23 sailing.  Very excited.  I've took my first cruise 6 years ago, on Enchantment out of Port Canaveral.  Just the 3 night cruise.  Liked it so much I did it again a few months later by adding on to a trip to Orlando that we already had planned.  Enchantment again.  Then I wanted to try the 4 night going to Key West out of Miami, and was a bit disappointed that it was going to be Enchantment - again.

So, I'm pretty excited to be on one of the bigger ships, and think it will be pretty cool to be staying right on the pool deck.

The question that you need the answer to is, "did they rate you as a <at least> Prime member of Club Royale" ?  Once you know the answer to that question, you will know the answer to your other questions.  My guess is, that if you qualified for a comp cruise, you ARE already a Prime member...but you need to confirm that.  Call Club Royale at 866-213-3116.  They will need your Crown & Anchor number to confirm.

So, if the answer is "yes" and you are at least a Prime member of CR, you will receive both free drinks in the casino and the waiver of the 5% "convenience fee" for cash advances.  Your Prime tier level will be good through 3-31-19.  In order to keep your Prime level you will need to re-qualify before 4-1-19 or you will lose your status.

Regarding the "free" cruise...you just need to choose one of the cruises that is listed on the back of the Certificate and all you will pay are taxes, port fees and gratuities.  It is also worth noting that you can upgrade your certificate to a higher category of cabin at a very reasonable rate.  If you are happy with an inside room, then you are good-to-go.  If you want something a little better, ask the representative, when you call (I recommend calling the number above and NOT the number noted on the back of your certificate) and they will quote you a rate for an upgrade.  I have found these comp cruises to be an excellent way to get a very nice room at a very reasonable rate.

    Good luck !!

Thanks for the info.  I'll give them a call first thing tomorrow morning.  Last time I tried to call at this time of the day I finally gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes.  It's been 2 years since I've cruised, so it's doubtful that I'm "Prime", but worth a phone call to check.  Certainly not a deal breaker if I'm not.  Just happy to get the free cruise.  M Life offered me one as well, but I would have had to use it by June.  This gave me choices until the end of October.

I have upgraded my M Life comped stateroom before, but am actually just fine being in an inside stateroom.  My stateroom is actually on the pool deck, so If I want to see the ocean, I can just go out my door 🙂

    Thanks again!

  6. I'm undecided, but was considering the same thing, but I know realistically I will be anxious to get on board.  I just through it would be cool to be able to not check your luggage and carry it right on board and drop it off in your stateroom.

Not sure what I will do, but can anyone give a guess as to how long the Windjammer stays open for lunch if I do decide to go a bit later.

  7. I have had several comped cruises through my Las Vegas MGM players club (M Life), but have now been offered a comped cruise directly through Casino Royale.  I'm assuming they already know my style of play, as it hasn't really varied on any of the 3 cruises I've taken, so I'm not too worried about giving them enough play.

Drinks?  Will they be free?  With M Life, being Platinum at that time, I got 10 free drinks in the casino.

Getting cash in the casino?  It was kind of nice because the fee was waived (I think again because of Platinum M Life), so you could get cash on your credit card without paying a fee, and the charge came through just as a normal credit card charge, and not as a cash advance.  Much easier than carrying cash.  Just pay it off when you get home.

Anything else I should know.  I'm pretty excited.  I've been on 3 cruises and they've all been on Enchantment which is a rather small ship.  I have an inside stateroom on the Navigator in August of 2019.  Brand new rooms on the 11th deck that only start being available in April of 19.  That should be pretty cool being right on the pool deck.

    Anything else I should know?

    Thanks.

  8. I'll be taking my first river cruise next July - Highlights of the Mississippi - on the America. First question. Laundry Facilities is listed as an amenity. What exactly does that mean. Do they have a little laundry area available, or do they do your laundry?

Also, does anyone know what time of the day these cruises typically get in when the cruise is over. I'm not seeing that on the web-site.

I would be happy to have anyone share any information they think is important to know, as to how river cruises compare to regular cruises.

  9. My first time in Miami. I put in Port of Miami into hotels.com and Casa Victoria Orchid came up. It certainly wasn't at the top of the list - but it is one of the hotels listed. The reviews seems pretty decent, but this hotel isn't typically mentioned on threads talking about hotels to stay at pre-cruise in Miami.

    Any feedback for me.

  10. I would call back to get a confirmation. I've used them twice, but didn't book through them. I booked a package through a hotel that used them. I was sent a confirmation with a phone number for me to call when I arrived. At that point, they told me specifically at MCO where to go to pick up the shuttle.

  11. I have only ever taken 2 cruises, but here is what I learned on my first cruise. I brought a suitcase and a tote. I carried on the tote. It was heavy and I got tired of dragging it around. Second cruise, I checked my tote and carried on my beach bag, which only had the things I knew I would absolutely need before my luggage arrived.

  12. I've stayed there twice now. I didn't do the park and cruise - I did the one where they provide transportation to the airport and to the port.

Very happy with the place. Is it the nicest - no - but very reasonably priced, I thought. It was clean and very close to the beach if you are interested. Free breakfast in the morning. Also the front desk guy went out of his way to find me alternate port transportation in the morning as they had me scheduled on an 11:30 shuttle I think, and I wanted to go earlier.
