  1. There is a department store called Pamas on the waterfront street (Melgar) just south of the ferry pier. They have a large section dedicated to Pandora. Not sure if they have a Cozumel charm, but they have an amazing selection.

  2. The last 2 posts are speaking about different shopping areas. We have 3 ports. Puerta Maya which is Carnival ships which has a large shopping area but no shopping center or mall across the street. Next is the International Pier which is Celebrity and RCCL ships has a fair sized shopping area and across the street is Royal Village Shopping center. The third is Punta Langosta which gets NCL, Disney, and overflow. It does not have a separate shopping area but passengers debark into the Mall that has an assortment of local and name brand shops, Senor Frogs, and Hooters.

  3. Christmas Eve is when we celebrate in Cozumel, so a few shops may close early. Other than that with the hours you will be in port, it will be business as usual. Christmas Day if there are ships in port, most places will open, but maybe a bit later than normal since they will have partied until 5 or 6 in the morning after midnight services.

  4. My wife uses a scooter that automatically folds up to about the size of a medium suitcase. It doesn't take up much room so it doesn't matter what kind of cabin you have. We fold it up and stick it in a corner and let it charge overnight. It is great for travel, even on the airplane.

Would you mind giving me the name of your wife's scooter?

  5. I have already stated that I would be using a walker, OBVIOUSLY I am mobility challenged. I asked because of information I have been told by other passengers and because I am curious. On Disney they actually park and charge them in an alcove next to the lifts. I do not need a lecture, I asked for those who had done or saw something similar. Another person told me her steward would take it away and return it each morning. So ONCE AGAIN, those who KNOW of these instances please reply. Those who do not KNOW, don't bother. Jeez, SMH

  6. PLEASE no posts about the rules, safety, etc. This is for pure information.

I work at one of the cruise piers in Cozumel and whenever someone has a scooter, I ask if they have a handicap room. The majority say NO. Then I ask about where they park it. More often then not I am told they leave it in a wide part of the hallway. like an indented cove area, and that they just take the battery in room to charge.

I want to hear from those who have done this or sen it. Gracias

Again, do not post if it is only to preach!!!

  8. Yep 6 euros. I had a Charles Schwab checking account and they actually refunded the fees to me. It was a pleasant surprise.

Yes, That is why I have a Schwab account. Living in Mexico and I avoid all fees and foreign transaction fees. Love it!

  9. You have to pay for your own mistakes. If you don't want to take the risk then book thru the cruise line. You know and accept the risks if you book on your own.

Not so!!! I live in Cozumel, have worked with the tourist industry and many friends work with the tour companies. Refunds are given when either your ship cancels port or tours are canceled due to weather factors. NO RISK!

  10. There is a place called Paprika about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the Carnival port. Walk north or go left, after you walk past the International Pier next door it will be about 2 blocks up on your right. It is not cheap nor is it expensive. It has traditional Mexican and Yucatan food that is excellent. Many of the locals eat there. Hope you enjoy our island!
