DH and I are doing the Caribbean end of March. We have 2 days we have planned to go snorkeling and lounge at the beach/water.
Im concerned about HOW to safegaurd our personal belongings. We dont plan to bring much with us.
1.towels
2. backpack with sunscreen, snacks, water bottle
3. camera to take pictures (waterproof)
4. snorkeling gear (most likely in the backpack)
5. cash and our ID... probably kept around my neck on a lanyard/sleeve thing
When we are out in the water... is it safe to leave your things out? We would leave our towels and maybe backpack. Planning to carry my camera with me. What about our snorkeling stuff?
Do they have lockers? It is safe to leave out?

I LOVE cruising...It's seems that no matter what I say or explain I don't have any luck convincing friends or relatives to cruise with us or without us. Would love to have some of them experience the "Total Escape" with us How do I do it?:)
We just started cruising last year. We actually have a few friends that are going on their own cruises now. We are a bit in the younger crowd (late 20s/30s) so we posted all our pictures and posted/checked into our facebook page. Think this made our friends WANT to do a cruise. They saw how much fun we had, now they want to have some fun too!
One of the things I always tell people is how much I loved being catered to and being able to go to many ports without having to lug my bags around. AND all the food!!! and being able to brink my own wine/champagne with me. And the Room Service for breakfast while I stepped out into my balcony. and the towel animals! and just how free I felt to relax and not worry about anything!
Think this sold them!

Thanks! Def will keep this one on top of the list. They have a waterproof case for less than $10 on groupon right now but I can't find any reviews on it. Life proof seems to be the best one right now.
Where you satisfied with the picture quality? My DH wants us to buy a waterproof digital camera. But we don't really do aquatic activities so I'm hesitant in buying on if my iPhone can do the same thing or at least is good enough.

Are there any waterproof iPhone cases you would recommend? Going snorkeling end of March.

It will be interesting to see what the actual situation is that is requiring the captain to return so soon. I'm being selfish but I sure wish I had not booked this cruise for February. I know I will enjoy my week away from work but just reading about the constantly changing weather issues is stressful for a soon to be passenger.
I feel the same way. We booked for end of March... hoping the weather has cleared up by then. But it is very stressful for me right now. I do not feel excited about this trip like I should be. I'll be calling Princess to see what my options are about cancelling. We booked our flights through Southwest so we have the flexibility of cancelling our flight and just re-booking to go elsewhere.

:) Very excited for our trip now! Seems like no matter what you choose, your bound to have a good time!
We decided to do Passion Island, Tabayana Beach and Altun Ha!
We wanted to do the ATVs but I dont have my license and it seems they require it. Bummer.

We will be arriving to Houston Friday night! 59 more days!!!

Thanks everyone. So far, exactly the advice I was looking for. And yes, we are heading out March 22nd

We are going on the 22nd! Would love to hear from you when you get back.

Hi Folks -
Was wondering if anyone had done any of the excursions with Princess Cruise Line and had any recommendations/warnings to share? This is our first trip to the Caribbean and I think we want to stick to Princess Excursions this time around. I've tried searching the forum but not quite getting the "reviews" I want. DH and I are interested in these:
Cozumel -
1. Passion Island Beach Break, Scenic Cruise and Lunch
2. ATV Adventure, Beach Break and Lunch
3. Palancar Reef Snorkeling, Sail and Beach
Roatan -
1. Tabayan Beach and Lunch Break
2. Ultimate Beach Package
3. Shipwreck Snorkel and Beach
4. Relax on the Beach
Belize -
1. Altun Ha Mayan Ruins, Scenic River Cruise and Lunch
2. Cave Tubing and Scenic Drive
Anyone have any comments on the above mentioned excursions we are interested in?

What's the diet? I have 66 days left to lose 12 more lbs. I already lost 6lbs by just watching my calorie intake and not going over 1200 a day
-
Thanks everyone! We decided on a balcony... we enjoyed it so much on our 1st cruise... think its the right choice for the 2nd as well.
Maybe one day we'll try out the interior... maybe on a shorter cruise. Just to see what the difference is.
-
I heard Lamanai is an all day excursion. But I would also be interested to hear what others say. I have the same question

We are doing a western Carribbean cruise out of Houston in March. This is our second cruise and we did a balcony to Alaska in June last year. Had a great time!
Is a balcony worth it for the Caribbean? Any scenic views we will want not to miss?
-
I haven't been to both, but have been to Chankanaab twice now and I haven't found any better than there yet for snorkeling.
I have 2 reviews listed in my signaure line. There are tons of pictures (especially in the 2nd review). :)
Can I ask where else you have been? I'm also trying to find out where to go and not go. Thanks!
-
Do either of these beaches have good snorkeling?
-
Thanks for the review! Did you do the tour through your cruise line or outside tour company? I would be interested to find out who you used if so. Look forward to this excursion! Need all info I can get!
-
Sorry for the ignorance but what is a dry snorkel? DH and I are going in March and I've been reading the threads when I came on this one. Trying to find out as
Much as I can so we are prepared.

I am also interested in this. Thanks for the post. Look forward to reading the replies

I have the same question! We are also visiting the same ports you are. Adding myself to this thread.
