  1. Yup. I had many hotels along the shoreline as customers in the wine business. Several of them closed down just before some of the heaviest spring break weeks, posting a sign "Closed for maintenance" or "Closed for remodeling". Which of course was never done...or in some cases...some minor work. Gave the employees some vacation time, and prevented the damages. Several of the managers and owners told me the loss of income during that time was minimal compared to the losses they suffered from damage and added security.
  2. Agree there my friends! Little Radiance ladies are "just right" size. 🙂 I booked a great deal on a B2B on "Enstretchment" in a GS later this year. Way more our style. 😉
  3. Hotels and resorts along the beach here in Florida dread Spring Break. Kind of related I think. 😉
  4. Thanks! It's paid in full now (Viking requires way too early full payment)....but it does make it feel more real now. 😉 Viking a more solid company than awful American Queen Voyages...those creeps. 😠
  5. Against my better judgement, as we don't do short cruises, we booked a 4 night (Mon-Friday). A few reasons doing so, being we have never been on Allure, and would like to meet her before she leaves our local port here. Convenient. And...have never seen Mamma Mia, so we would love to do so. Will be interesting indeed how the four night atmosphere is compared to many years ago when we did those short cruises while still gainfully employed. I know the ship is totally booked out for our sailing in May.
  6. Agree about the cool pool in Alaska. 😉 We are once again booked in a GS B2B on Radiance Alaska next to the RS on the hump out. I think it will be a better location than the one we just departed from on Serenade which was forward of the hump and directly under the pool deck. That pool was very busy for most of the 63 nights we were on board...well except when we were in Antarctica. 😉 But being the pool deck won't be tropical heat rocking up there in Alaska either, that will definitely help as well.
  7. After disembarking Serenade last month after the first quarter of the WC, 63 nights....that was the one thing I was very much looking forward to...cooking my own food at home. 😉
  8. Oh no...now I have that song stuck in my head....thanks a lot Captain Stubing. 😆
  9. Also with us. We had Radiance scheduled for the circumnavigation...then it was cancelled not once...but twice. First time for Covid, next time...just after restart, when we thought it would go this time...they cancelled it again. That second reason was to yank her out and send her to New Orleans. Talk about salt in the wound! 😡 So...RCI lost that money, when we rebooked for the 3rd attempt with Viking this time. 😉
  10. Wow! Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing and the effort you are going through to post them. Very appreciated! 🥰 Makes me even more anxious for our turn next year. Circumnavigating Australia for 33 days on Viking Jan-Feb. 🙂 Then following with another 20 days doing the same with NZ into March.
  11. I would rather listen to that than the tiring and very annoying Coco Cay song the ship insists on cranking up loud when you get there. Ughh. 🤢
  12. Oh yeah, the environmentalists probably hate me. I drink water from the little 16.9 ounce bottles all the time, favorite being Dasani. Though I am very good at making sure those bottles make it to recycle. I am always dragging around my bottle...must be something from childhood. 😉 😄 Unlimited WIFI, the 3 bottles of wine, 6 drink vouchers, and Chops breakfast are my big favorites. 🥰
  13. We used to get 4 bottles of water and two beers. Yes another cut back, we now get six bottles of water since they replaced the two beers with 2 bottles of water. Yipppeee!! 😠
  14. Beautiful pictures as usual. You are doing a fantastic job! Thanks so much for sharing. 🥰
  15. LOL....lately not much to envy with all these cut backs for Pinnies. 😉 😄
  16. OK...good thing I am beyond that then...I say in my most humble attitude. 😄 😄
  17. We were on first quarter for 63 nights. Did Royal up bid, and won our bid going from balcony to GS. Under those rules of course, still only one point per night. Total 63 points. Have earned much more than that on some cruises for just 4 weeks in a suite. 😉
  18. Thanks! As l long as they are doing the show, we will do our best to be there. Some ships have had cancellations for various reasons. Mechanical, cast member sick, injury...etc. Just crossing our fingers we finally get to see it. 🙂
  19. And actually even though there were 41 Pinns on full WC...when we were on board for first quarter...most of them did not frequent the Concierge lounge. There was never more than 4-10 of us in there at all times. Only a couple of suite's guests ever showed up. Serenade opens up 90% of the VCL for Crown Lounge overflow, with "guard dogs" at the ropes. The bulk of the Pinnacles really seem to prefer the interactions with D and D+ friends, and the big comfy chairs with better view in that lounge. 🙂 And a lot of them simply "bar hop" around the ship. Nothing over a balcony was available for us on last quarter, but we have a nice bump out on deck 8. It will be a whole lot "cozier" with creative storage than we had with the GS we had for first quarter on deck 10. 😉 Will be among the happy hour crowd around the ship's various lounges when we reboard, since no access to the Concierge Lounge then. And BTW...you could be a newbie cruiser doing the quarters or full WC in an inside cabin and get free WIFI, laundry, and unlimited drink package as included perks. But no shiny pins. 😄
  20. Thanks! Looking forward to it. My only fear is it being cancelled for some reason. 😮
  21. Good for you...but need...coffee...need coffee. And I prefer the lounge coffee over the "other alternatives". 😉
  22. Thanks! Maybe we will get lucky and score a CLS later....but otherwise am happy with the nice bump out JS we have booked. And if we have access to CK/SL...all the better. 🙂 I hope we finally get to see Mamma Mia. 🤗
