Just got off the Radiance today and our cruise director was Ranier.  I did not hear his name anywhere on Cruise Critic.  My husband thought he did a great job.  Anyone else ever cruise with him?

I was on the Panorama last year when he was on the Fun Squad. He was the Bingo host. So happy he has gotten promoted!

Just got off of the Venezia this morning. They have 3 big hooks behind the door and another big hook outside of the bathroom. We brought our own magnetic hooks also. The front door of the cabin is not magnetic but you are able to stick what you need next to the door. We brought our "Spending our kids inheritance one cruise at a time" magnet.

Were you on Deck 1?  I walked by that magnet and thought it was great lol.

I am disembarking tomorrow…I will let you know what time. We will be taking our own luggage off.

Update - we docked in NYC around 6:30 or so. I am not sure what time they started calling people off but we were in muster station D4 and taking off our own luggage…they called our station around 7:30. We were out of the terminal and in an Uber at 7:55. It was very organized.

How current is this schedule? There was a recent one that listed Joey Boyes on both Horizon and Vista around Christmas time. Someone in the cruise group for our Horizon sailing asked John Heald about it and he said it was an error and Joey would be on Vista at that time. Looking at this air table, it only shows him on Horizon from November-January. I would love for this to be correct and Joey be on our sailing.

I am on the Venezia right now with Joey as our CD. He told us he was going to Horizon at the end of October.

    How has your trip been?

It has been great. Our itinerary was changed at the last minute due to Hurricane Lee, but despite that we had a wonderful time. Everyone has been so friendly & nice. The CD Joey has been awesome. The ship was rocky last night but hasn’t been too bad today.

Where are the smoking areas on Horizon and what cabin were you in that was bad? I booked a cloud 9 balcony on deck 12 for our anniversary and this smoking issue isn’t even anything I thought of!

I had a cabin on Deck 6 right above the outside smoking area on Deck 5 which I had not realized when I was booking. I copied and pasted the following from the Carnival website…hope this helps

    Carnival Horizon®
Cigarette smoking (including electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers) are permitted in the following areas:

    • Horizon Casino: There is no smoking in the casino unless seated and playing; it is not allowed at the casino bar or in the entire area when closed.
    • Outdoors: Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Deck 5 (port side and starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side, forward and aft).
    • Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted at outdoor smoking areas on Deck 5 (starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side aft)
    • Note: On embarkation and debarkation day, smoking is not allowed outdoors while the ship is refueling. Please consider selecting a later Arrival Appointment to minimize any inconvenience on embarkation day.
  7. I was on the Panorama in September. I don’t remember what our port arrival time was but I know it was before they started boarding anyone on the ship yet. As for debarking, they did not start debarking people until shortly before 9 and we were out of the terminal and waiting for our ride at 10:30. I’m not sure what caused the delay but there were many people arriving as we were leaving.

Take small denominations of bills so you wont need any change.

that’s what I ended up doing…I had small bills in US dollars so I could buy a few souvenirs. I also had a credit card that has no foreign fees so I utilized that a few times.

I also tipped the tour guides in US dollars they were happy to take them 😃
