Minors losing their Diamond status…

Whether it is written or not if Royal wants to change the policy they have no issues with simply rewriting the policy to reflect what they now want it changed to. We have seen countless policy changes and they get rewritten all the time so I do not believe that they have intentionally left something vague just so they can change it without having to rewrite the policy. Again just my own opinion but there has been one reported case and the policy has not been rewritten. I will still chalk that up to an error on the employees part -

Spouses you can, kids under 18 are not allowed their own account. Either way it will not show their actual points, it will show the highest point level of all those that are in the relationship -

So I lied, I will respond to this. As you have clearly missed it is not a couple of experiences, it is a decade of Royal applying the policy in the manner that I have described. The one off experiences are the ones that you try to infer is the policy. -

It was not directed at you specifically its just my own personal opinion based on the way the the policy as written has been applied over the last 10 years at least and there has only been one report of it changing recently however over the past 10 years there have been a few reports of the same thing happening. Based on that alone I will stick with my opinion that those isolated incidents that have been errors. Until more reports of the same thing happening emerge I will 100% stick with my interpretation of how the policy is applied regardless of how you and others interpret the policy. I have said my peace and will not be replying to any more posts in this thread since it is pointless. -

Yes, Royal does seem to be quite good at having policies that are not crystal clear. -

If they sailed on the ship, they earned it. Like air line points, it does not matter who pays only who flies/sails -

You cant, just like you can't see your spouses if they do not have the same number of points as you. To find this out you need to call C&A. -

Again, the wording has not changed at all and how I described it has been the standard practice for the last decade and now people are trying to read something into the terms that isn't there based on one report. -

Each section is separate from each other and refers to something else. You cannot combine sections. Kids under 18 shares their parents status but they have their own points. Just like spouses, they appear to have the same points as the highest member in the household yet each does have their own point totals. Kids upon turning 18 now see their own point totals yet they retain the status of their parents the last time they sailed with them. To advance to the next level they must then accumulate enough points on their own to reach that level. This means a 17 year old with 14 points who sailed with Diamond parents when they were 17 retains the status of her parents of diamond yet has 14 points yet is still a diamond. If they fail to remove the child from the relationship at 18 and sails with the parents again and the parents happened to make D+ and that was incorrectly passed on to the child then that D+ level would be removed and the 18 year old would revert to being Diamond with whatever their point total is. This is the way the policy has worked for years and there is nothing new in the policy to suggest a change. Again the only reason this thread exists is because of one person's report. -

I guess we will agree to disagree about how the policy is read. I certainly interpret it different than you do and the way I interpret it has been in fact how the policy has been applied in the past. Again, a lot of people speculating based on one post. -

The part that you did not highlight in red is critical in understanding the intent of that statement. If the child is not removed and advances beyond their current status they will be adjusted back to their proper status. No where does it say they will be adjusted to what their points are. It can Emily be interpreted that if they were Diamond and advance to Diamond Plus because their parents advanced to D+ they will be moved back to Diamond -

Personally, I think that if this had been a change in policy we would have seen more than 1 report by now. -

Last July we were at the airport by 9:30 in the morning. We left the ship about 8. -
Wit until the week that the same ship is doing the same 8 day itinerary then change your app to that sailing and you will see the exact order they are serving the menus in.
