  1. Specialty dining for this sailing is by invitation only. Tonight we received an invitation to Chops with my account manager, another account manager from Western Canada and her assistant. Chops on Icon has the same menu as the rest of the Fleet plus an added selection of Iconic cuts, of course for an upcharge but for our sailing were free. I stuck with my tradition of shrimp cocktail, forest Mushroom soup and the filet except this time I chose the Iconic Wegu Filet. It was the best steak hands down thst I have had on a ship and something that I would even consider paying for on a future sailing. One in our group ordered the 32 Oz tomahawk and left only a bare bone. A serious case of the meat sweats will surely follow.
  2. It was fun but not $90 worth of fun. I'll cancel my reservation for next week but still pay for my son's so he can say been there done that.
  3. I'll let you know in the morning. The night is yiuung, Phoenix takes the stage at midnight. Lost count of drinks a long time ago but haven't had the same thing twice.
  4. Just made it up on deck for the final few minutes after our dinner tonight.
  5. There are so many great videos and pictures out there by others with a lot better phography skills than me that I probably won't post a lot. Therefore a few that I will attempt though. On FB look fir cruise director Mitch. A former cruise director who is now an account manager with Royal close to me has done a bunch of great videos.
  6. Just asked at the Trellis bar. Will check it out tonight after our dinner at Chops.
  7. Scored a couple reservations for Crowns edge at 4:30, stopped the cabin tours for a couple shots of liquid courage.
  8. Blown away. Her only other cruise was Allure. Could be a good future client, she really liked the suites.
  9. Pretty sure I have a new favorite ship. Absolutely stunning. I really feel like they did a great job in designing Surfsideand the Waterpark to keep the kids separated from the rest. Complimentary food options in Aquadome and at the Pearl are great. Off to tour staterooms.
  10. Our flight was delayed by about 40 minutes today but we are here. Low 70's in Miami but it is most certainly a lot better than dealing with the -10 but feels like -20 back home. Since Vikki could not take time off (downside to being a teacher), I brought along my sister for the 3 day preview sailing and then my son will join me for the inaugural. Our flight wasn't getting in until late afternoon so I booked a new hotel by the Airport. Tru by Hilton. Clean and comfortable with a bar on deck 10 (more time on ships than in hotels foes that to you) great views of the airport. Went to a Cuban restaurant that was a $15 Uber away called Versailles. Will be taking Toby there on Fridsy between cruises. Excellent food and very reasonable prices.
  11. Planned gradually increase in capacity to make sure things run smooth. Kudos to Royal for doing this.
  12. Looks like there will be 4500 on thec3 dsy sailing and only 5500 on the inaugural. I'm very happy with those numbers.

  14. I've had dozens of these situations and never had a card declined for that reason.
  15. You won't be saving any money booking this ship. Insane prices even with 4 in a room or ksf.
  16. I may be posting a few pictures. With all the pictures and videos that are out there on other social media there is not much that has not been shown. I received an invitation as a travel agent. Interesting fact. here are actually less cabins on Icon than there are on Wonder. 2867 on wonder and 2805 on Icon, they just have more cabins that hold more than 2 guests (80%)
  17. Actually Royal does for 3rd and 4th guests. Rates for guests 3 above are locked in at the time of booking and can be added later at the rate that was in effect the day you booked the cruise
  18. It's a balcony discount so foesnt apply to insides or oceanviews. Suites yjere is nearly always an instant savings or bonus obc offer thst is more than the balcony discount. I have received a balcony discount on every single cruise I have taken as Diamond and D+
  19. On a ship where double occupancy is 5000 guests band max occupancy is 6000 guests there may actually be enough berths for 7000 passengers. A long time ago I went through and counted actual berths for one of the classes but I don't have the actual numbers anymore so this is just an approximation. This allows guests more flexibility with being able to book rooms that hold more than 2 guests but occasionally it happens that more people than usual all book quad cabins in one zone which does then put limits on other cabins in that same zone with regards to life boat capacity
