  1. Cabins are physically identical. The only difference is location with the 2D being classified as midship while the 4D are considered forward or aft.
  2. The supercategory is balcony and that includes sll the different balcony categories. CA category is the specific type if balcony for example, Obstructed, midship, large etc...probably 90% of all valcony gtys will be in the supercategory meaning they could assign you any balcony. A few gtys are a specific category meaning you will get that or better. If it doesnt say then you are booking a supercategory gty. Invoices that travel agents get show this but the invoices that Royal issues guests who book direct do not show this.
  3. The deposit is per person not per cabin so on a 7 day cruisevthe deposit fir 6 will be $1500 or 10% of the cruise fare whichever is higher. The cancellation policy is different for guests 3 through 6 and generally penalties do not apply until the 100% stage. All passengers over the first 2 guests will pay the same rate.
  4. There are 2 types of guarantees. The usual is a supercayegory gty. Fir example an XN balcony gty. There are also category gtys fir example a 4D balcony where you are guaranteed a minimum category within the supercategory
  5. Royals policy has included CFAR for at least the last 6 years and most likely a lot longer.
  6. Royal has now started allowing 4 guests to book gty's. There is a separate category. The new categories were rolled out in November with the new itinerary releases.
  7. Actually they do. Thry do oversell based on they know from historical data that xxx number of people will cancel and at how many days to sailing they will cancel. They got themselves in trouble with this last year as their algorithms they were using were based on pre covid stats and the patterns have done a big shift. This caused them to have to make many requests fir voluntary moves to other ships or dates.
  8. As I answered in posts 7 smd 8... Your Roysl policy includes CFAR but funds cannot be transferred.
  9. That and the fact it can be purchased up until final payment and does not have age based premiums are the only good things about Royals policy.
  10. C&A discounts are combinable with the base 30% off each guest but not with bonus savings or extra obc offers. Diamond usually gets the discount for balconies on a 7 day cruise as their discount is $225 (booked 6 months in advance) which is more than the promo offer in most cases. Suites are the ones that lose out as they are the ones receiving a higher promotional offer than their balcony discount. That $650 discount you see actually reads from and starts at $25 for an inside cabin on sailings 5 nights or less and goes up to $650 for a 10+ day sailing in a suite.
  11. Group rates do not exist for Junior suites and above. You called some pretty uninformed TA's if they did tell you that Royal does not offer group rates on Suites. Group rates are only offered on select categories from inside to balcony and will never include the supercategory gty such as ZI, XN,XB
  12. Royals policy includes CFAR. It will be issued as an FCC valid for 12 months. (Apply and sail by)
  13. After final paymemt, transfer of funds is not allowed even with insurance. With Roysls insurance you will be allowed to cancel for any reason. Taxes and fees will be refunded. 90% of the cruise fare will be issued as an FCC valid for 12 months.
  14. There are two 3 night media/TA preview sailings, the first one is 20th to 23rd and before that there are two, 2 night shakedown sailings for Royal Caribbean employees.
  15. C&A balcony discounts only apply to the base promo of 30% off every guest. They don't apply to extra savings or obc offers which for suites is nearly always more than the balcony discount. You get the higher of the 2 but not both.
  16. Just as an FYI, group rates are not available on all categories and are not available for any suites.
  17. Using an FCC is no different than using cash. Had you paid for the booking in cash and cancelled that close to sailing you would not have received anything back other thsn taxes and fees. The FCC is no different.
  18. Sky Junior suites are a different category and include more perks (and cost more) than the regular Junior Suites.
  19. The first post in this thread lets you know how to access the cruise planner for any ship and sailing whether you are booked or not to find out the exact price.
  20. Quite common for sailings through to the end of April 2025. There are sailings on Icon with savings of over 5K Group rates for sailings from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025 were set in the fall of 2022 when prices were low. group prices remain constant while Royal has kept raising their prices. You will not find that wide a variation on sailings for May 2025 and beyond as those have just been released but there are still some ships and categories with $300 to $400 pp savings, not to mention that it is refundable and comes with some OBC
