Last year we were on the Epic for a January birthday in the MDR. Then on the Getaway for an October birthday at Cagney's. Both times we let the staff know ahead of time. They bring a nice cake for the table and of coarse sing. It was festive.
We also got the birthday decorations for the cabin they did as a suprise while we were out.

:D Thanks for the new pics.

I like Le Bistro because I love French food. I had bouillabaisse last year on the Getaway. So good. There are not very many French restaurants in driving distance in my area.

I don't remember any bad days on a cruise. I remember people with bad attitudes at work. The ones who hate their job.

YES....^^^^^^ what she said !! [emoji6]
YES! Me too. Waiting for my fix. ;)

Thanks for posting. I do wish the US would bring back more train service. It would be nice to hop a train to Miami for my cruise. Sometimes we do the Cruise Connection Bus. That is nice too.

There is always a catch.

i just got off the Gem and i was able to take anything i want back to the room without question
Thanks for the post. I was wondering about this too

I like the whimsical magnets. The kind with springs to make them bob. They have been in the ports. I used to get the coffee mugs when they were smaller. Now they are too large for me. They take up too much room on my shelves. Also I like ornaments.

An important tip the room steward did not tell us about on NCL. (We were on the Breakaway last week.) If you have a balcony cabin, the main handle says to pull down to lock the door. This does not actually lock the door from the outside. There is a separate lock at the top of the balcony door that really locks it where someone can not access your room from the outside. My sister had one of the angled balcony cabins. Because of the angle, it is very easy to hop over the railing onto the neighbor's balcony.
The college age men in the room next door did this very thing and stole all of the booze from my sister's minibar. Thank goodness she had her diamond ring and electronics locked in the safe.
The ship tried to charge her the $127 of the alcohol, but eventually reversed the charges after several hours of us hassling with upper management.
Lesson learned…make double sure, your balcony door is locked so no one from outside can access your room.
I think balcony rail hopping is why it's no longer "legal" to open the balcony divider even with connecting rooms.

Freestyle and Barnacle. I don't know what all that means but I know it's important. Thank you. I do get the length. And tonnage. :D

You won't be able to replicate it. They use fresh tuna that the crew catches off the stern of the ship. Freshness makes a difference.
Yes The crew has lots of time to fish. :D

This is good news! Happy for you.

Today's new webcamshot!
Thank you. Now I know I can see my cabin.: :)

I just hope there's not too many kids on my sailing
Motleyfan...Maybe you should sail with HAL. They seem to favor older folk.

I won $300 with pull tabs waiting for a show to start on the Pearl. I think I spent $5

I seem to recall having trays on our 1st few NCL cruises in the 1990's. Haven't seen them the last several cruises.
I kinda remember that. Maybe they disappeared because trays made it too easy to carry food back to our rooms. :D

I love my espresso too. I would get a card.
And that's another remember when thing. The Jewel and Pearl had espresso in the coffee stations at the buffet. Don't know if they still do. Espresso was complimentary in the MDR.
-
I would like to see Cuba too. Maybe someday soon?
-
Yes it is usually C And watch for the signs. It's one of my favorite things as we get into port to first see the ship we will sail on.

Suggestions Port of Miami Parking!
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We use the Port of Miami parking. For us it is easier when departing. The car is right there. We get a porter to help since we always leave the ship with more than we started with.
