Just got a bid acceptance email for Mexican Riviera cruise out of San Francisco on 3/2. Bid just above the minimum to go from an IB interior to a Deluxe Obstructed Balcony. I’m happy with the location of the new cabin and got the cruise at a good price to begin with so am happy to pay for the upgrade.

Tui, I think had a bad hand injury about a year ago so he and Maile might still be out as Hawaiian Ambassadors (hopefully they will be back soon.
@ParrottdizesMaile teamed up with Kahanu Coleman (Da hula Sistah's) on the Ruby last year. Tui is now back with Maile and they are currently on the Island Princess World cruise.

Has anyone had experience ordering a Gluten Free Balcony Dinner or Breakfast?
We have done balcony dinners on a couple of occasions with someone that has celiac disease. When making arrangements for the dinner you are asked about any food allergies.

We blocked the ones under the night stands with the throw pillows.
That's what I do too and I use a bandaid or two to cover the closet light sensor.

"Please note that in an abundance of caution masks are required at all indoor locations on northbound and southbound Alaska voyages between Whittier and Vancouver until further notice. Masks will be provided to guests if needed."
The above is on the Princess website. Not the Royal but it was definitely not being enforced on the Majestic last week. Captain Tuvo basically shrugged it off when a fellow passenger spoke with him regarding their concern about the lack of enforcement.

Friends who are on the current Majestic voyage that left Whitter on Saturday for Vancouver let me know that they are now going to Haines instead of Skagway.

I got an email yesterday that the cruise I have booked is starting a day later. I booked directly with Princess. When I checked the website not long after getting the email, cruises on the Royal out of San Francisco were not shown. It appears they are available again now with all the new dates.
I also checked the SF Port schedule and it shows the new dates for the Royal.

Hello! A small favor to any of you aboard the Royal Princess right now: can you find out what's happening with the ship in October and November? My sailing on the Royal for Nov. 22 was just shortened from 5 days to 4. And I can't find any sailings on the website for all of October. Can't be dry dock, I'm thinking. Thanks for any clues!
@KikiKruiser An email from Princess today has our November cruise starting a day later than originally booked. I looked at the SF Port schedule and it looks like most if not all all the Royal cruises out of SF have had some sort of change and are not currently available on the Princess website.
Thank you to the OP and any others on this Alaskan cruise that are posting. It's my favorite cruise destination and am following along in preparation for my next Alaskan adventure.

We picked "walk off" at 7:30a. We had packed our luggage and had them taken the night before, so we only had a carry on bag to walk off with. Once we got off the ship (a long wait for clearance from customs) we went to the "luggage area" to get our bags - we had to wait 45 minutes before they closed the warehouse doors and allowed us into the area to find our luggage.
@roxievegas"Walk Off" is meant to be that you walk off with all of your luggage, no putting luggage out the night before.

A quick question for anyone on board, is the Loyalty and Events Manager, Emerson, still on the ship? If so, for how long? Thank you.
I checked while I was on the last Hawaii cruise and was told that he got off in Hawaii.

Looking forward to following along and maybe even meeting you as we too will be boarding tomorrow.

My husband and I just did our tests without any issues. Are you scanning the QR code on the white label that has the batch #, expiration date etc? That's the code you need to scan not the one on the front of the box.

I've re-fared a March cruise twice since final payment. We lost OBC on the first re-fare and specialty dining on the second re-fare. The down side of the re-fares is that the difference in fare was issued as FCC which has to be used by the end of the year. The plus side is I get to go on another cruise in 2022 with a nice chunk of FCC applied.
Before contacting Princess or my CVP for the re-fare I made sure that the prices were not marked as new bookings only.

Checking the CVS website, the same I used 3 times prior for cruises all of a sudden now says it will cost me $139 - what did I miss?
Same here in CA. Insurance reimbursed me for the emed tests I ended up purchasing for the last cruise and the remaining ones I have are now expired 😞 so just placed another order.

Can OBC be used for the paid upgrades that you take once onboard?

It is not being offered currently. This is from the Cruise Health FAQ's on the Princess website "Shared experiences and larger group events including indoor dancing, nightclubs, karaoke and singing groups, The Voice of the Ocean, behind-the-scenes tours, Captain’s Champagne Waterfall, and group renewal of vows will not be available during these cruises, with the exception of select instructor-led classes hosted with physical distancing."

We got off the Majestic on Saturday and also cruised Alaska in August, no one checked our boarding group time for either cruise.

We too are onboard. Boarding was a breeze even though our Princess.com and Medallion Class accounts are messed up.
Sorry for the large text in
my previous post. I copied and pasted it from a note as I was having issues posting on CC and by the time I realized it was too late to edit.

We too are onboard. Boarding was a breeze even though our Princess.com and Medallion Class accounts are messed up. Upon boarding we went straight to Customer Services as instructed by Security to get a new medallion for my husband. We were helped by the very lovely Marina who remembered us from our Alaska cruise as we had the same medallion issues back in August. While DH was being helped I called the dine line to get on the list for the Chefs Table and am happy to report that there is at least one Chefs Table this sailing and we are on it. DH took the opportunity to ask Marina if there was any chance of an upgrade and lucky for us the request was granted. We went from a standard balcony a mini suite, same deck better location.
DH’s medallion has been working fine since getting things sorted at boarding, although we did have a funny incident yesterday. DH had gone out to a hot tub and ordered a beer at the same time I was trying to locate him. His location on the app showed him at customer services, when I got there he wasn’t there but there was a waiter with a beer looking for someone with the same first name of DH. So asked if it was DH he was looking for and of course it was. I was able to eventually get hold of DH via messenger to let him know I had his beer. For some reason there was another new medallion at customer services.
We had been told that this sailing has about 1500 guests, Kevin the CD mentioned last night we are at 55% of capacity.
We’re in Cabo today and we started the day with latte’s ordered through the app. They were delivered to our cabin in record time. DH had an issue once again with his medallion boarding the tender so we will visit the lovely Marina in customer services later today. Marina was on the tender with us so knows already knows there is an issue.

We have replaced almost all of our evening TV time watching cruise vlogger videos on YouTube. Our favorites are La Lido Loca, Don’s Family Vacations, Cruise With Ben and David, Tips for Travellers, ParoDeeJay, Emma Cruises and EECC Travels. These vloggers provide a wealth of information and entertainment, and have given us much joy!
Sounds just like our evening entertainment.
Enjoy your cruise and congratulations on your retirement and 30 years of marriage!

We did the Rapid Antigen test at CVS Minute Clinic for our Alaska cruise. We were not charged, however, they did take our insurance information and it was billed to and covered by our insurance.
-
Upon completion of our Alaska cruise we purchased the BinaxNOW self tests to take at home for our own peace of mind, one of the two tests in the box did not work which makes me reluctant to purchase the supervised tests unless I buy at least one extra.

Phone call from Princess to offer future cruise package
in Princess Cruises

I just got this call, only reason I answered it was because it was from Santa Clarita. The lady knew my Captain's Circle level, when my last cruise was and that I had purchased an FCD on that cruise. I didn't give her confirmation of anything she had said but asked if I was interested in a special offer, my reply was if this is the $6,000 offer then I'm not interested. She was very gracious and didn't push any further and offered to have me removed from the calling list.
