  1. It was $100 (with the Carnival MasterCard) for orders of $500 or more. :-(

What you needed to do was order two $500 cards, then you would have gotten two $100 (with the Carnival MasterCard) free cards.

shoot . . . have to read that fine print next time. thank you for clarifying for me.

  2. Once back on board the ship, I made my way back to the cabin, where I found the dreaded debarkation information, and customs card waiting on the bed for me. I guess this cruise is really coming to an end…..

Well, I guess it’s time to start packing. I only have one suitcase, and one carry on, so it’s not a big deal. I hung out on my balcony while we sailed from St. Maarten, until it was time for the VIFP party at 4:30.

I’ve never seen so many people at a VIFP party before. It was held in the Spectacular Theatre, and even a good portion of the upper level was filled. The Spectacular Orchestra, along with Ty, the female singer, provided entertainment at the start…..

Cruise Director Malcolm Burn was the host…..

This party was pretty much like all the other VIFP parties I have attended. There were plenty of drinks and snacks, the usual video where everyone cheers for the ships they have been on, etc. Then they had the Senior Staff members come on stage, introduce and tell us a little something about themselves, which Malcolm turned into a comedy bit…..

Then Malcolm acknowledged all the Gold and Platinum members in the room, and asked all the Diamond members to come up on stage for a group picture. I have never seen so many Diamonds in one place before. If you look closely, I am in the back with my arm up in the air…..

    To be continued…..

I see me and Joe with out "Malcolm" cutouts/costumes.

  3. No I did not call Carnival. I just posted them to my cruise in goccl. (Carnival TA website)I also booked a client that used ecards for their deposit yesterday on goccl with no problems.

I just want to confirm, were these the Carnival egift cards bought thru Verizon? My TA tried again and can't apply them. The Terms and Agreement say right on them that they can't be used by bookings thru a TA.

Or were they the egift cards bought directly thru Carnival?

  4. Agree the itinerary is AMAZING. Only drawback to the 14 day cruise is that my 2 bottles of wine will not make it to the 2nd week! :o:eek: Does anyone know if you sail on longer cruises if the carry on allotment is modified?

I don't think it is and Baltimore is a very strict port . . they checked and rechecked my 2 bottles last week and also undid our 12 pack of ginger ale and looked at every can. Retaped it poorly . . . some poor folks were losing cans while they headed up gangway.

I know a T A who has a group for the March 16. We are already booked. If interested email me and I will forward at

  5. I just wanted to say thank you to the OP. I had never heard of the smart rewards even though I have Verizon and had 40,000 points to spend. Threads like these are the reason that I use cruise critic. I was a little concerned because the terms stated on the Verizon website that you could not use them with a TA booking. I called Carnival and they said that they had no idea why it said that because TA bookings can use the e cards. I am a TA and I actually wanted to use it on my personal bookings so this was important.:D I tried a tester one and bought a $50 e card. It worked so I ended up buying $1200 worth to use for my deposit to book my birthday cruise in February. Yay! We have another cruise booked for New Year's so I will be buying all that I can to put on these future cruises.

I also wanted to mention to those who are now addicted to this savings like me, you get 300 points per day just for logging in to your MyVerizon account. So in logging in for 4 days, you get enough points to buy another $100 e card.

    Thanks again swetra!:)

So are you saying that you were able to apply them to a TA booking by calling Carnival? My TA couldn't apply mine.

  6. As I was out swimming in the water I looked up and noticed that my mom and dad were back from their tour. So I got out of the water to see how their tour was. They said they enjoyed it and it was worth it for the $20.00 price. It was starting to get hot out so my dad was ready to get in the water

My dad wore my tank top while in Half Moon Cay so that he didn't get burned

I wore a t-shirt too. Notice my arms...I got absolutely FRIED in Grand Turk  SPF 30 is no match for the Caribbean sun :p

This is the inner tube that I brought with us from the dollar tube. It worked perfect for what we wanted it for. And when we ready to leave for the day...I gave it to a young kid

I have been bringing a floatie tube on cruises for years. I even use it in the pool if its not crowded because I don't like my hands in the water all the time.

  7. In my opinion one of the best parts about the pool at Margaritaville is that there are steps to get into the water...and not just a ladder like what you find on the ship. Due to multiple knee surgeries it is very tough for me to climb a pool ladder so these steps were wonderful

Margaritaville pool also has a zero entry sloped entrance to the pool at one end. Great for people who can't do steps.

  8. Awwww that's awesome. Enjoy your meal at Captain James....what was the Groupon for?? Be sure to park in the Captain James Landing parking lot and them enjoy your lunch. And leave your car there while you ride the water taxi....it is so convenient.

Just be sure to verify with your waiter that it's ok to leave your car there....we didn't have an issue. And I'm sure you won't either.

Be sure to ride all the Water Taxi routes. They are so unique and a great way to see the city.

Come back and report how your day was....I would love to hear about it

It was $30 of food for $15 . . . we will only do the lunch sandwiches so that should be perfect. I was looking at all the routes last night and we will be sure to catch them all.

  9. Thinking about doing a B2B cruise from Miami. Is this doable? Disembarking Carnival Conquest and embarking on Carnival Breeze on the same day? Can we walk from one ship to the other ship?

We did it Valor to Liberty and 3 weeks before I broke my foot. My husband wheeled us over and we paid a porter to take our luggage . . . He got a generous tip!!!
