The Port of NY & NJ is open.  see:

    https://www.panynj.gov/port/en/index.html

Governor Murphy's Executive Orders don't limit cruising out of NJ.

    https://nj.gov/infobank/eo/056murphy/

The CDC issued the No Sail Order and it is countrywide.

Not yet, give him time. I know it's the CDC order at this time which is limiting cruising and the port is open for other than cruising. I don't doubt for a minute that Murphy would ban cruising depending on what he feels on any given day. My point was based on what Murphy said, which is he will announce new opening guidelines on Monday because he wants to keep up with New York.

And by the way, you haven't told me anything I didn't already know in your links. I've already read them, since I'm a leader of a church, I've read every executive order the governor has signed since covid began.

Given that Florida's governor has made it clear that he will not allow businesses to require vaccinations and the CDC wants 95% of passengers to be vaccinated in order to forego the test cruises, etc., it would seem that RC would be setting itself up for yet another fight if they attempted for to try to start up  U.S. cruising from a Florida port . Perhaps use NY or Baltimore for the 95/5 and use Florida for some test cruises.

Good luck with that, don't forget about king Murphy. He will only consider that if NY opens their port first so he can "keep up with the Jones".

  3. I thought that if you cancelled under CWC, you just got an FCC for the full amount. The $100 p/p was/is waived until May 31, 2021.

    My Example:

Original NRD $500 booked 3/30/2020, cancelled under CWC 5/23/2020 before FPD. FCC issued.

Rebooked FCC 7/20/2020, Cancelled by RCL 01/12/2021 before FPD, FCC reissued.

Rebooked FCC 3/24/21, Confirmation says $400 cancel penalty, Repriced today, 4/29/2021, now confirmation says $930 cancel penalty. FPD is 6/6/2021.

If I cancel under CWC on 05/30/2021, which is prior to FPD and the NRD fee waive period expiring, do I get an FCC for the original $500 or will they charge me an additional $430?

You should have received a "DoNotReply..." email from Air2Sea confirming your reservation.  You may also request a copy of your latest invoice which should reflect the Air2Sea charges.  Payment for flights are due at the same time as the cruise final payment, usually 90 days prior to sailing date.

    Hope this helps.

I did receive the DoNotReply email. Just didn't see or receive anything about when/how to make payment. I will request latest invoice. Thanks for the information that it is due at final payment.

I read that 30% to 40% of all US covid deaths were residents of nursing homes.  I think you have the answer. Maybe the US is equipped to keep people living long lives, but covid was too much for many of those people.

69% in my county are LTC.

unless I am reading their metrics wrong, they will take a year to work off the 1M backlogged applications at their current rate.

I have been tracking their output since I sent mine in July. Eight weeks ago they had about 1.4 million passports waiting to be issued. They are now down to 944 thousand waiting to be issued. Last week is the first week the number went up, likely due to the holiday.

  7. U.S. State Passport Operations Update: As of September, we have completed processing applications received in March and are 92 percent through the applications received in April, May, and June. Due to nationwide variations in staffing and the type of applications, some of our passport agencies and centers are already working on applications received in July and August.

Ours was received in Philadelphia branch on July 17, checks cleared July, 21 and still in process.

I think Norwegian just released its results

Norwegian stated in their FORM 8-K on 8/6/20:

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the Company’s financial position and results of operation. If the temporary suspension of sailings is further extended, the Company’s liquidity and financial position would likely continue to be impacted.

    No surprise there.

Perhaps the change fee will be reinstated however you can cancel up to 48 Hours prior to the date of sailing and receive a FCC without penalty so that is a workaround.

Where did you see this posted? RCL hompage/cruise-with-confidence

Q : How are Non-Refundable Deposit bookings impacted by this policy update?
A : Non-Refundable Deposits that were booked on or before August 1st, 2020 and are sailing on-or-before April 30th, 2022 are eligible for the Cruise with Confidence Policy and follow the same guidelines. Prior to the Final Payment deadline, guests with a Non-Refundable Deposit bookings that wish to change to a different ship or sail date can do so with no fee assessed prior to August 1, 2020 - the change fee will be waived.

Having read this for the 20th time, I can see now that the fee may only apply to different ship and sail date, leaving the FCC with full value and no penalty.

Now only if I can get my last FCC.

As long as you cancel under CWC before final payment date you should get back your entire deposit in the form of a FCC, no penalty charges I believe

This is the part that raised my question, which sounds like after August 1, you will be assessed the change fee.

  11. Our final payment is coming up on August 30th for November 28th. I'm leaning towards not making final payment and taking the FCC before the $100 p/p Non-refundable penalty kicks back in on August 1st. So far I have done one L&S, one cash refund and one FCC. Ironically, I'm still waiting on the FCC which is taking longer than my full cash refund. 😲 🤔

I bought my shares back in Aug 2009 when shares were 19.50.  I haven't seen it get that low through all of this.  If it does, I may end up kicking myself for not selling when it was $132/share!

    52 Week Low:  $19.25    Date:  March 03, 2020

  13. I can't take vacation until September. Since our cruise was cancelled, we were looking into an all-inclusive and flying in. Our passports expires 02-02-2021, which falls out of the 6 month window. Looking for opinions for which I should do? (1) Mail in the renewal to get in the cue for FIFO or (2) wait until they reopen and go with expedite when it becomes available. Of course, with the back log it probably doesn't wont even matter anyway.
