Unless things have changed recently, and things do change constantly, bookings on board include the returning guest (ZPM/ZPN) credit so in fact the credits are "doubled".

Also unless things have changed, any booking on board gets automatically assigned to the TA who is responsible for the cruise you are currently on - no choice in the matter. It would then be up to the TA to allow a transfer back to HAL, or not (most likely).

100% agree with the first part of this answer, while it was not always that way it has been for at least the past 2 years.  With respect to the transfer to the "TA  who is responsible for the cruise you are currently on" we have always been asked by the FCC when booking on board if we want it transferred to our current TA.  Now we always do that booking in person rather than filling out paper work and dropping it off so perhaps the "do it yourself" method doesn't allow that option.  Just know that on all our HAL cruises we have made booking for the following year and always had the option.

I'm glad I'm in good company. I've had all the problems mentioned. Sigh.

Me too.  Ruth's problem with the back tab along with attempting to return via any means to your previous page is very very very annoying since the only fix I've been able to do is just close out and reenter CC.  Couple that with having to reinput my sign in data each time make my usage of this site very limited at this time.

Prior to this latest re-sign problem when bringing up CC it would bring up the original forum page without picking up your user-id and then immediately flash blank and then redisplay it with you signed in.  POA described this in much more elegant terms than I. :classic_ohmy:  Guessing this current problem is a result of someone "fix" to that problem.  YEA, sure it worked!!

I'm getting the feeling that the same tech "professionals" that worked on HAL's newest debacle have also had a hand in CC newest web design and implementation.

  3. Could the difference in rates the OP is seeing be linked to some kind of locality discount?  I do know that at one time I sometimes would get 2 different rates depending on whose CC number I used, mine or DH's.  There were also several others here on Cruise Critic who had the same situation.  It made no sense of any kind! :classic_ohmy:

Prepping for my 7th cruise, but first on HAL! We're getting down to the little details and are a little stumped on a couple things. I don't see any options to pre-order cans of soda for our room. Can we carry on soda at embarkation like other lines? Bring it on from port stops? All I can find (pre-cruise, online) are soda/drink packages fulfilled at the bar, by the glass.

We've ordered some liquor to be delivered in-room for pre-dinner cocktails or nightcaps on the balcony ... but it's not going to work if we can't get some kind of mixers! 😧

There are cans as described above in the mini-cooler in your stateroom.  But like regular "mini bars" there will be charges for what is used.  You may though bring aboard both at initial embarkation and at port stops as much soda of your own choosing as you would like without charge.

I thought it's stated above, but we leave Wed Jan 16th. We fly down to FL Monday to give us enough time in the case of snow/ice disturbances.

It does say guaranteed cabin. I will look again to see if any more info on the stateroom has come in.

Since you are not sailing until Jan 16th it is very possible your stateroom will be assigned in the next few days.  You can print your luggage tags at any time up until, I believe, 24-48 hours prior to departure so if it comes through prior to Monday you will be good to go.  You can print or reprint them as often as necessary.  If your stateroom hasn't been assigned prior to Monday you can just get the tags from the stevedores at the dock with no problem.

Time to relax, breath deep and plan on having a wonderful cruise!

  6. Boy do I feel really really dumb  :classic_huh: and maybe someone can help.  We have a cruise booked for March, booked onboard last spring and then transferred to our TA.  Our final payment date is sometime mid December and we usually pay with a VISA card (cash rewards).  But we do have an American Express card issued by Pentagon Federal Credit Union which we could use if it qualifies for this offer.  Does anyone know if that PFCU AMX card qualifies?  And if so how and with whom do I "add the offer"? When I've read postings about an AMX offer in the past I just assumed our card didn't qualify but if it does I sure wouldn't mind an additional $100 credit.

    Thanks bunches in advance!

  7. It sure doesn't appear to be ready for publication. I'm not even going to list the things that seems to me to be missing with the exception of the tab that allowed you to page through a thread as you desired.  That option used to be lower & upper right hand side at the end/beginning of each visible column.  I don't want to go to the next unread topic - I want to go to a specific page of a current thread.  I got to here by finding all of POA1s post and going to his latest and that brought me to this page.  And what's with all the additional information being shown the signatures???  It just seems to be taking up unnecessary space. Oh well...…. it sure doesn't seem ready for Prime Time to me.

  8. Actually, the thread title has an error in it -- it says read only starts "Tuesday, Oct. 10th." Of course, Tuesday is October 9th, which begs the question: does read only start on Tuesday the 9th, or Wednesday the 10th?

I'd been waiting to see if anyone else caught the fact that TUESDAY was the 9th and not the 10th. Since that posting was probably authored by the "tech" department and not Laura herself it does little to calm my fears that this new rollout will go as poorly as their last one did. We, the CC users, will again become the unpaid (and greatly frustrated) QA/Test Team.

  9. I will most likely have excess non refundable OBC on my upcoming cruise.

Does room service come with a receipt like the bar, so the tip can be added there or do I need a stack on 1$ bills?

If your question implies you would like to use some of your OBC for tips you can certainly do that. Go down to the casino and use one of the gaming machines to get cash from your stateroom account (several threads on HAL CC with directions). If the cage doesn't have the small bills you need/want a quick trip to the purser's desk will take care of you.

Once you get that cash feel free to use glue, staples or whatever. I personally leave mine on the table, pick it up before opening the door and then handing it to the server as soon as he sets the tray down.

ADDED - We always tip $2 for an order of just coffee and tea.

  10. Does that include the bottled water, sodas and specialty coffees?

    Thanks!

If they were planning on using it for bottled water and/or soda tell them they can bring aboard as much of both as they desire free of charge. That way they would only have to use the package for booze and

    specialty coffees.

  11. The Unlimited Laundry does not need to be paid for in advance. On the order sheet you will fill out to send with your laundry there is a block towards the bottom that gives you the option of paying by the piece, Stuff the Bag (one time thing) and Unlimited Laundry. Just check that UL block and the one time charge will show up on you stateroom account. While I used to always pay in advance now with the OBC specials we have been getting recently I wait until on-board.
