A friend of mine says the Banyan Tree is gone If that is true than not good for pioneer inn.
One report says that harbor area gone, but did not say if it was the one next to the inn where the ferry docks or the one just outside of town
I just read that the Banyan Tree is still standing! Charred, to be sure, but will survive, according to the newspaper. It is 150 years old, imported from India, so its roots are very deep!

I don't think people's observations/reservations on storage is whining, just commenting. Isn't that what this board is about?

Seeing all that devastation makes me cry.

Many people complained about the closets in these rooms, about the bypass doors etc. At least with the bypass doors, one could get to the clothes at both ends, plus there were shelves in addition to the drawers. The new double door that only opens partway doesn't allow easy access to either end. Why did they do that? It looks sleeker but not at all practical.

I am the one who mentioned the roller to hang items and that is mainly for people who are on the World Cruise to consider.
Who wants to crowd an already small room with a rolling hang thing to trip over or block the view?

But it's about the posters. The one for Kong is a classic, as is Gone With The Wind.
And as for Mary Poppins....well, Dame Julie Andrews IS the Godmother of the Serenity.
It's a nice subtle tribute that I've always appreciated.
The posters are nice but I was referring to the awful movies usually seen in the theatre. In 27 years we've gone to 2.

How about some newer releases? We’re all old enough to have seen these especially if we have grandkids. How many times do I need to see Home Alone all alone?

Some better movies would be nice. King Kong? Mary Poppins? Really?

Do they still include the beverage package in the fare?
Crystal never had a beverage package. At least since we started cruising them in 1995.

We are booked in the 2018 design. The two desks seem the main advantage to me of possibly switching to a classic. But I prefer what looks to be a bigger shower (and no tub) on the 2018 design. And the closet looks to have more cabinetry. I didn't know about the coffee table, but the ability to raise it in the classic is an advantage if we want to ever eat in the room.
One question I have is about the television placement. In the classic it looks to right in front of the bed, but on the 2018 design its' to the side. Does it fold out? If not, is it difficult to see from the bed?
We like the Classic. The TV is on the wall over the sofa and is very easy to see from the bed. The 2 desks are a must for us and so what if the shower is small, we take showers not s-h-o-w-e-r-s! Yes the coffee table deal is a real bonus.

Have a wonderful time! Quick question-could someone tell me the preferred post-cruise hotel in Lisbon that Crystal is recommending? We have booked the Lisbon to Barcelona cruise next May and have started looking at hotels. Thanks!
You will not be disappointed with Avenita Palac, absolutely charming and great location and awesome breakfast buffet, best we ever had in 25 years of cruise travelling..I think others here will agree.

I believe that is the Saphire suite.
Keith just posted the Aquamarine
I had asked for the NEW Aquamarine and that is what is on #81. Sapphire is larger and on an earlier page.

Newspapers are available free on the iPad they provide or for a fee you can get a printed copy.
What does that mean on the iPad they provide? I have my own and I can access news papers on line.

Ship looks gorgeous, Lounge is a nice idea for old casino space! Sapphire looks wonderful but IMO granite is garish, could have been more soothing without the overspeckled look. Also in Osteria and Umi - what makes a restaurant think people want to crowd into a sofa to eat? I (just me there) would prefer chairs but at least it's not a banquette!

Anyone who has seen the pictures can see that the closet doors are problematic.
