We just took a 10:40 out if San Juan off of the Summit. We did the early self debarktation at 7:00am. We were off the ship at 7:05 and in the airport about 7:20. The desk for our flight didn't even open until 8:45 so we had to stand in line forever waiting.
We had no idea the process would all go so quickly.
We are doing the same thing in feb from the Summit with 10:40 flight on AA so we would like to know more about your experience please. Did you have trouble re elevators, customs, agricultural inspection at airport, where did you go on the ship (special meeting place?)to start the process besides letting customer service know of your flight plans ! It is obvious it all worked out for you guys but please detail the process for us

Thanks too bad as it would be nice to see ships coming and departing San Juan

When after you are paid in full do they issue the E Docs?

Does anyone know if there is a webcam that shows this pier so we can look at the Summit? I have looked every where I can think of and cannot find one !

Just booked the Intercontinental Resort Isla Verde for Feb 6-9 using Hotwire. Paid $169/night (plus taxes/fees). :D
That's a real good rate on Hotwire we paid $208:00 plus taxes for Jan 31. Don't forget they add an additional 18% (I think) for a resort fee that you pay at the hotel.

Anyone stayed on Summit 9137? Any comments would be appreciated!

My favorite beer is the One in My Hand!

Upgraded to premium package yesterday and it's already shown on our Celebrity reservation! $11:50 per person per day including tips so if it goes up once we get aboard it will not matter We figure $161:00 is a real good deal to cover anything we would desire in the beverage department!

Thanks for the detail it sounds like premium drink package is a bargain!
-
Thanks for the spread sheet as this makes it very easy to see if you can go with the classic or the premium package. For me classic is all i need not sure about wines for my wife but will show her the list and adjust from there. Can you have one classic and one premium?

Thanks for the reply SNJCruisers with such detail! I hope they will make the Mango daiquires for my wife. She doesn't like much alcohol in them so that won't be the problem! We are sailing the Summit Feb/01/14!

Thanks for replies I will be sure to carry both cards! Any comment on the classic package as compared to premium package woul be appreciated! Beer and a glass of Chardonnay for me and a mango daiquiri and Chardonnay for my wife

So we have the classic package and from what im reading I wont be able to order a beer for me and a mixed drink or glass of wine for my wife at the same time? That seems dam inconvenient!

Let me start by saying we are not big drinkers per say, however on a cruise, we do like to enjoy ourselves, after all it is a carribbean vacation! We were on the Connie last January and purchased the Premium Drink package prior to boarding. Initially we were concerned that with so many port days we might not get our money's worth.
Not only did we get our money's worth and more, there were other perks that we didn't anticipate. Aside from no slips to sign etc, often around the pool when a frozen drink started melting often the staff would ask if they could just make a new one. We tried many different types of drinks esp Martinis that we might not have bought otherwise. If we tried a new drink and didn't like it it was replaced with another drink of our choice without question.
In order to show you why we felt this was a great deal I will describe a typical day. Disclaimer... based on this, some may think that we are heavy drinkers...if that is the case , while we appreciate your perspective and opinion please do not comment on our consumption ( this is our first post and we have seen some petty unnecessary replies). The purpose of this information is not to expose our consumption for review and/or public scrutiny, but to demonstrate to those who like to let their hair down a little and are wondering from a ecocnmic standpoint is it worth purchasing a package.
0830-Latte with one and half shots of Bailys..........$10.00
1100-large water...............................................$ 3.50
1230- Frozen drink..............................................$6.50
1430- Beer........................................................$5.00
1600- Frozen drink..............................................$6.50
1800- Glass of wine while dressing for dinner............$10.00
1930- Martini and dancing prior to dinner.................$12.00
2030- Dinner ( 4 different types of wine by the glass as suggested with each course by sommommlier-not all entirely consumed)..$ 40.00
2215- Specialty Coffee..........................................$ 8.00
2300- Dancing/Bar/Show/Casino Cocktail.............................$10.00
2400- Nightcap.(wearever..maybe brought back to balcony) $10.00
Total...$121.50 ( Drink prices are approx by memory-please don't bust me for not remembering exact price..probably cause I drank too much..Ha ha)
Cost per day...$55.00
Remenber this is for one person double the savings when we each bought one!
Only difference on port days was that we had two beers when back on ship as compared to 3 poolside drinks. Many nights we actually stayed out dancing etc later and maybe had another one...or if really hot day at the pool and having fun with poolside neighbors maybe snuck in an extra beer!
If you think this might come even close to a typical carribbean vacation day for you, then you can see what a true value it is. The other convieniences were no slips to sign, bar servers, waiters and sommoliers knowing your preferences and offering drink suggestions and special cocktails that we had never tried before. We told our assit waiter the first night about the specialty coffee and we had it served with our dessert every night...no hassles. It really added to the vacation atmosphere that we enjoy!
Hope this helps!
Any comments regarding the standard drink package verus the premium drink package would be appreciated. Sailing summit Feb 14

We are booked there for 1 night prior to our cruise on the Summit. From what I've read it's poor service and overpriced food and beverages! I hoping to report that is not what we experienced but time will tell! Used Hotwire 4* to pick so we were hoping for the best!
