I agree. We were recently in Italy and had an excursion booked through the cruise line. The only part that I would consider accessible was the coach. It had a lift. Beyond that, the sidewalks and cobblestones were unmanageable.

We walk from the motor coach to the Piazza di Santa Croce with our escort. We would like to continue on to the Uffizi. About how long is the walk and is it over rough cobblestones?
thanks

Thank you. Very helpful.

I posted in the Europe thread as well. Which is more wheelchair friendly? Also, would like the convenience of a cafeteria.
thank you

I want to purchase tickets for one of these museums. They both have fascinating collections but lack of time is a problem. Is one of them more wheelchair friendly? A cafeteria would also be convenient.
thanks

You might find additional helpful responses on the disabled travelers board. One item that may work is a walker/transport chair. By flipping a few parts a walker can be used as a transport chair.

Royal Caribbean has a Crown Loft Accessible Suite that has full suite amenities and is considered very high end.

I also have MS and use a rollator for short distances and a folding manual wheelchair for longer walks. We did this cruise on Royal Caribbean Anthem of the seas. We had a tender port in Bar Harbor. We used a ferry type of boat that I rolled onto. Once on shore, there was a series of ramps to traverse, some steep. But we made it! Since I was able to climb a few steps we were able do excursions that included a coach ride.

A transport chair is not self propelled. A pusher is necessary. They are often lighter weight than a wheelchair and may fold a bit tighter/smaller. I agree that a wheelchair or transport chair would give you more excursion options.

Who assesses and collects the luggage fees? We fly with Delta and have our fees waived due to fare class or purchasing tickets using a Delta credit card.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the clarification. I guess my husband will have to push me in my wheelchair along with the masses. Not happy about that.

Can someone recommend a car service for transportation from our EWR hotel to Cape Liberty?
Thank you

Isn’t it a 12:30 check in time and boarding is still according to status or mobility?

I reserved a scooter from Scootaround. All in was around $400 for an 11 night TA from Newark NJ to Southampton. That includes a $100 charge for one way rental.

Ah yes, the “me first” rules are made for breaking, mentality. Gotta love it!

We’re staying at the Newark Liberty International Marriott. We stayed here ages years ago and enjoyed the property and close proximity to the airport. Especially handy if arriving in the evening.

Thank you so much for posting that video. The edge series is definitely on my radar.

I don’t know why some choose to follow the suggested dress guidelines in the MDR, but I seriously doubt that it is because they want to please other people. That seems to be a rather condescending question. They aren’t a bunch of lemmings!

To answer the OP’s question, yes it seems as though your interpretation of their rules is correct. Everything is changing fast so as others have said, rules could be changing.

What is it that you need in an accessible cabin? A suite will probably not work for you depending on your needs. There are a few accessible junior suites, but I doubt that one will be available.

What is with all the grocery store references? We do wear a mask in the grocery store. And as we shop for groceries, we typically keep moving. We never stop in any one spot for more than 2-3 minutes. And that’s how we have always behaved in the store. There’s very little chance of becoming infected with Covid. What are you doing?

I understand that RCI will accept a PCR or antigen test no more than two days before you cruise. Maybe confirm at RCI website. Good luck with the testing nightmare!

I’m confused. What does the Embassy Suites have to do with the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale? Is it the same hotel but with a different name?
