  1. We have been to Ocean Blue twice, on two different cruises a couple of years apart. I love the ambiance and service, but quite frankly was underwhelmed with the food on both occasions.

But food is so subjective, you may love it just like others. I actually love some of the dishes at LaCucina and other posters find that restaurant awful.

My suggestion is to give it a try and enjoy 😎

I totally agree about La Cucina. All I heard was how bad it was. I ate there on Breakaway. It was one of the best meals I've had in my life.

  2. I was very surprised  to find that I did not receive the 3 bonus points per $1 spent on my upcoming NCL cruise in January. I paid for it all using my NCL MC. The problem seems to be that my TA, CruisesOnly, billed it as a payment to themselves rather than a payment to NCL. I received only 8000 points and not the 24000 points that I was expecting. Did anyone else lose all these points just because they booked with a TA instead of booking with Norwegian directly? Will I always have to do without a TA?

Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance! Jean

Hmmmm... They didn't do something right. I've dealt with CruisesOnly in the past and also BJ's - they are all owned by World Travel Holdings. If I'm not booking directly with NCL, they are my goto TA. Have you called them and have them explain what happened? I just booked a cruise through BJ's this weekend and it was charged as being through NCL just as expected.

  3. Hi all -

I have booked the Breakaway out of NYC for November 26. I plan to drive up to the area on November 25. I think the best plan would to find a hotel in NJ where I can park my car and then I would like to use PUBLIC transportation (no uber, no taxi, no prearranged rides that don't show up on time) to get to NYC at least Penn Station then I don't mind using a taxi to the port then the reverse going back. Suggestions on where to start looking?

  4. Anyone order the e gift card through Verizon? I ordered mine and I'm still waiting for the email with the info... impatiently!

UPDATE - For those wanting to do e gift cards, they come immediately to your email address. It does not take a few days to be processed. My email was on the receipt, yet the e gift card was sent to my husband's email address! He then put it in his trash folder.

  5. Hi all -

We had planned on using the tri-rail from FLL to MIA on our upcoming cruise. However, after looking at we have to take a shuttle, then the train and then the bus to South Beach... this could take awhile to save some money. Since time is money... are there multi person van/shuttles ready to go from FLL to South Beach? I don't want to book anything in advance because every time we have, we've had to wait an hour or two for them to show up even though we had a specific time for them to show up... ugh. Hubby's against Uber. We'll take a taxi if we have to but if we could just save a little bit some how?

  6. Try to get him there the first evening when the kids are all getting acquainted.

If you have pre-registeted on the website you can skip the on-board registration.

So, I don't have to do anything on board if I've done it online? He can just show up on his own?

  7. There’s a meet and greet the first night. We did pre-registration too. They still verified name on the list and everything and then gave him his sticker. We were in and out quickly.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Sticker?

  8. Hi all -

I've already registered my son for Circle C online for our Carnival Vista cruise. Is there anything I need to do once we are on the ship? I'm used to hauling butt once on the ship (usually NCL) to the kids' club to get my kid signed up in person for kids' club. This is the first time he's in the 12 to 14 year old age group. Thanks!

  9. Every time I ordered a drink (not that many) that was over $15, I was informed there would be an extra charge. My father-in-law routinely ordered drinks costing $16.95 and $17.95, and he was informed each time -- even if it was the same waiter -- of the overage before the drink was poured.

The only time I had a problem was in Le Bistro. I wanted a glass of champagne (not prosecco) that was listed on the menu for $12.95/glass. They told me it wasn't included because they would have to open a whole bottle.

I had the same problem in Le Bistro on Escape. They didn't say why, but simply wouldn't let me have the wine!
