Definitely the Burj Khalifa if you have not already visited: also then the Dubai mall with its free aquarium is worth checking out. The fountains outside the mall have show times. I can recommend the museum of the future. We liked our visit to the Dubai creek for a feeling of old Dubai - we used the abra to get across to the souk. On the other side of Dubai paying a visit to the palm islands with the monorail - was a nice experience when you head over to Atlantis. These are some of the things we did and can recommend

You didn't say if this will be your first time in Dubai - but there is plenty to see and do : we went to the Burj Khalifa, took the abra across to visit the Souk, went to the beach area, palm jumeirah, bur dubai - Here is an idea of a packed itinerary . You can ask if you have questions . If it is your first visit: there are other resources you can check out in the UAE playlist example how to use and buy the metro ticket from airport to city : advice on entry into UAE : what to know before a visit to the Burj Khalifa.

Muscat, Oman - time to disembark ship and meet guide
alpencoolcruiser replied to Wayfairers's topic in Africa & Middle East
Yes, this is a rather special port, if not taking the shuttle buses from the ship : we were asked to remember the free shuttle that brought us from the ship to the port building and then after had to re-board the same shuttle that dropped us to the port gate for the exit. -
We are do-it-yourself people and prefer a more leisurely stop , and decided to see Brindisi on our own. ( also to save money in an already expensive cruise trip :D) . Some highlights are the Colonne Romana , eloquently described by cruisemom42 above . Churches such as the Santa Teresa , the Brindisi Cathedral and especially nice in my opinion is the interior of Tempio di San Giovanni al Selpocro. Don't miss the archaelogical digs , one is quite unique with a floating theatre built on top! Also important to note - is the Italian Siesta hours - shops are closed something like from 12:30 - 15:00/30 so planning ahead is good. If you want to read details of what we saw - https://zeweekendtraveller.com/index.php/europe/italy/brindisi-at-the-heel-of-italy/ Frankly though - this part of Italy is really beautiful and deserves to be explored with more days at leisure.

alpencoolcruiser replied to VacayAddict's topic in Italy Ports
There are a lot of options : I went through many of them but I lean towards doing it independently. However I have collected my research into a blog post. Perhaps it will help you to decide -
If it helps, and I hope it does - I wrote some tips and information on a visit to Vatican city .

We did the Baltic cruise and I have a blog post on how we went about seeing Rostock and Warnemunde. I have links to transportation and what to see. Maybe it is helpful for your planning. In it I also mention the eSim card I use which is affordable and gets me connected to the internet especially for navigating around.

We did Rostock/Warnemunde on our own years ago: i just updated the blog to reflect working links. Maybe it helps your friend for the planning. -
On the leg of our Baltic cruise, is a stop at Warnemunde. We had a relaxed time with first taking the public transport to Rostock then returning to spend time in Warnemunde. We spent less than 30 Euros for the both of us on this shore trip. Read for transport links and what to see https://zeweekendtraveller.com/index.php/europe/germany/germany-mecklenburg-vorpommern/rostock/ https://zeweekendtraveller.com/index.php/europe/germany/germany-mecklenburg-vorpommern/warnemunde/

From my cabin tour of VV shorts , you can see briefly my luggage with the luggage tags even already outside the cabin before we reached. That is pretty impressive given my experiences on other cruises. -

My review of our Alicante hotel which is very positive and a highly recommended place to stay if you need it pre or post cruise. You can read it here: https://zeweekendtraveller.com/index.php/europe/tomate-rooms-in-alicante/ -

That is a good recommendation to check what exhibits MARQ is showing. We paid 5 Euros per /pax for the Qin and Han exhibition with the Terracotta warriors. Have to say though it was just a small portion with 9 warriors and a horse. We already saw more warriors in a previous exhibition. -
