Kiwi_cruiser Posted August 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2017 On our Masdam cruise Holland America offers a tour that goes to Signal Island, Laregnere Islet or Master Island. The tour is called “UNESCO World Heritage Site Lagoon Snorkelling” We have been to Noumea a few times over the year and I have never heard of those places before. I know about Duck Island, and Amedee Lighthouse Has anyone been to Signal Island, Laregnere Islet or Master Island before?? Do those islands have a different name?? (as I know Holland America likes using different names for the islands).
possum52 Posted August 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2017 They are the correct names for the islands/islets which are just a few kms from Noumea. If you google the names you can see on a map where they are situated. The lagoons of New Caledonia have been declared UNESCO World Heritage sites for their unique eco systems. Limba Posted September 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2017 we have been there in April, on Laregnere and Signal Islands. We booked the trip with dalocean. It was a private trip, just our family on a boat, the islands are desert islands, we had a fantastic day there with a few more people besides our family.
