Washademoakgirl Posted September 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Hi there- We are booked on Celebrity Reflection for the December 7 cruise, and are wondering about snorkeling excursions in Antigua and Curacao. Are we best to book through the cruise line or are there other attractive options available to us?
PRH Posted September 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Creole Lobster cruise has snorkeling away from the crowds, an excellent lunch on a beach on Bird Island and small number of people—Antiqua. We’ve done this a number of times. Go to “ports of call”, click on Caribbean and go to Antiqua. Curaçao was OK. We’ve done the Jeep tour but otherwise not much else—weather has been iffy the three times we’ve been. Sent from my iPad using Forums

AKJonesy Posted September 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2018 (edited) Also look at Trip Advisor. For each port you will see "Things To Do", and you will see all of the ratings. Did you sign up for your Roll Call here on Cruise Critic? You might find that fellow cruisers are already looking into private excursions and you can join them. I arrange many private excursions for our cruises and they have been fantastic. If you look at your cruiseship excursion offerings, you will probably find ratings on those, and that is key. We prefer private excursions because they are smaller and can get into places without a big bus load, they are always cheaper, and the interaction is far better. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g147277-Activities-Curacao.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g147242-Activities-Antigua_Antigua_and_Barbuda.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g147243-Activities-St_John_s_Saint_John_Parish_Antigua_Antigua_and_Barbuda.html Not sure of your port, but here you go Edited September 20, 2018 by AKJonesy

newbiewaves Posted September 30, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2018 We are also on an Antigua snorkel hunt most however seem to be on the catamaran and after a transatlantic some dry land would be good! Sadly Deep Bay has a closed resort and used to have okish snorkeling from the beach but now termed as a bit remote to DIY with some safety concerns? Several other beaches are good as a beach but not to snorkel. Other problem is not being able to second guess the weather in advance. Last time in the Caribbean/Mexico in December we hit a bit of rain. The catamaran trips are great though if you haven't done it.
