Has anyone ever seen reef sharks at Cococay, Bahamas?

Well, I did!...

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HNjYlddhWYM

This was our 1st stop on our cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Majesty Of The Seas. This was taken completely by chance!

I left Joel at the beach bar & headed towards the water to capture the surrounding beauty. Little did I know, I wasn't ALONE in the water! This was the 2nd shark that came right up to me that day but this was much bigger! I only followed it because I was very brave after a couple Pina Coladas! I am TERRIFIED of sharks so this was a moment I'll NEVER forget! Other beach goers (& their small kids) got in on the chase too! It was the best footage I've ever shot! Hope u enjoy it too! P.S. Thank God he wasn't hungry!

It was an experience I'll NEVER forget!

Just wanted to share my story & ask if anyone ever had any shark encounters while on vacation too?

Great video and very interesting. What video camera are you using? Brand and model #. I'm looking to buy a video camera that I can use to post video clips. I have a Panasonic mini DVD Camcorder but I can't pull out separate video clips.

Thanks.

Thanks!:D

I still can't believe I actually saw it, nevertheless get it on tape!

Very cool moment for me!:p

I bought this camcorder for that cruise so what a way to break it in. lol!

It's a Sony Handycam Hybrid HDD (Hard Disk Drive)Touchscreen Widescreen

Model # DCR-SR45

I bought it at Best Buy for about $700, including the 2 yr ins, extra battery (7hrs), carrying case, etc.

It's an amazing piece of work. It records to the hard drive up to 20 hrs.

Very user friendly.

You'll be very pleased with the quality. Now, as far as the still shots, I'd stick with a Sony Digital camera with at least 10 megapixels.

When u enlarge them to fullscreen, u can see the difference.

I also have the new iMAC, so it comes with state-of-the-art photo & video editing software built right in. I love it! I'm still editing over 15 hrs of footage from our last trip! lol! :p

:D Gotta hurry cuz only...

BUT more interested in your countdown clock. Would you let me know where you got it.

Thanks

Just highlight the entire code & delete it (right-click on mouse).

Try it again.

Copy/paste it on your signature pg.

I also tried to use the countdown clock, but what shows up is the code as text in my signature. This is what displays:

Make sure yours ends the same way.

Also, do not add any bold, color or underlines.

Make sure you copied the entire code.

Good luck!:)

I had one circling my legs while in Cococay in September of 2006 - I didn't know that it was a shark - just thought it was a cool fish ... and then some guy said "oh wow, look at that reef shark! That's a decent sized one!" and I said "oh wow, get me the *insert dirty word* out of here!" and screamed and ran. Probably not the best thing to do. I did drop my coco loco in the water as well (ok, to be precise I threw it at the shark haha, like that was going to do anything), so maybe the shark had a little sip of that.

I am afraid of jellyfish for pete's sake. Let's just say I no longer go near the really big fish. Stupid me - I'm from MN and we have freshwater fish close to that size in the rivers ... I never even thought about sharks.

Do they bite? I never bothered to find out - the word "shark" is enough to scare me.
