Port Everglades PoC Car Rental

We have a port of call at Port Everglades coming up. Will be in port 12pm-9pm. Thinking of renting a car, but we need an infant seat (DS is <1yr old).

I have read that Thrifty is right outside the gate (walking distance?), but their website won't accept the date/times/location combination. Perhaps they don't rent for less than a day? I switched it to the FLL location and it worked.

I guess I don't really care who I rent from or where their office is as long I can get a shuttle at the port and they offer a car seat option.

Should I be able to rent from Thrifty, or any other recommendations?

We've always used Avis (mostly for a corporate rate) and have been happy with the service - free shuttle from the port to their office. They close about 5:00-6:00 so you may need Uber/taxi to get back to the port if you drop off the car late.

I would bring my own car seat -- that way you know it is properly sized, well maintained and correctly installed.

Rental car options with shuttles to cruise terminals:

Hertz from Crown Plaza Hotel

Avis from Pier 66

Budget on 17th in shopping center next to Renaissance Hotel

Sixt further up 17th.

Thrifty/Dollar just out western port exit.
