Taking child ashore, do they need photo id

Has anyone had issues with taking their children ashore and them not having a photo id? I don't really want to shell out over $100 for a passport and my daughter doesn't have any type of photo id. I'll have a copy of her birth certificate with me.

If they can board the ship on embarkation day, there should be no problem at the ports. They will have a ship “card” with their picture on it that you will need to ensure goes with you when leaving the ship at the port stops.

If they don't need a photo ID at initial embarkation (in other words they are under 16) then they won't need one at the ports.

Under 16 requires NO photo ID...no worries!

Ship cards do not have a picture ON them. There is a picture of the guest coded in them that is visible to the person at the gangway clocking them off the ship, and back on. EM
