Yes, it is a short walk from the shuttle bus stop.

And do sign up for one of the student-led tours. These include entrance into the Book of Kells exhibition (and the Long Room), although you can get a discounted price on the tour if you already have timed tickets to the exhibition. (There can be quite a line for the Book of Kells exhibition, although IME, it moves fairly quickly.)

Thank you, where do I find the advance ticket sales?

You can't book the student-led tours in advance -- you just turn up. (We were lucky when we arrived to get on the next tour which was leaving in 2 minutes.) Information is here:

Timed-entry tickets to the Book of Kells are available here:

Thank you, do you remember how long it takes to ride the shuttle in?

The shuttle ride itself takes only about 15 minutes -- but that's after the shuttle leaves. At busy times, there may be a queue for the shuttle buses, and at quieter times, they might be waiting for a few minutes before departing.

ETA: The walk from the Merrion Square drop-off (near the Oscar Wilde statue) and the Trinity College tour desk was about 15 minutes. We took a little longer because we took some photos.

To give you an idea of timing, we were scheduled in port at 10:30 am and we were on the tour around noon.

Do visit it. As mentioned right by the shuttle drop off.

The time of the ride does vary depending on time of day and day of week.

The distance is not that far but traffic can be bad. It could take 15 minutes but it could take 30 minutes. Just depends.
