These are the last pictures I took that day.

Nothing much happened that night, we finished packing, and that is about it. I remember that I went to the jacuzzi one more time and my mom went for a little walk. The ship was very empty that night and a lot of "do not disturb" signs were on. I was very happy that I never got sick in this voyage.

I think that other than mom getting sick, it had been an ok relaxing day. I had very little plans for that day and that is the way it went.

I think on future reviews, I will do the same and take it easy on the last day. I was very nice was to end a lovely vacation.

Day 8.

We woke up rather early, well at least I did and it was a good thing.

Just look at the pictures that I got that morning! The weather was perfect.

Then we docked and I went back to sleep for a few minutes. I think by 8:30 we had left the room and made our way up to the buffet. Where we had our last breakfast aboard Breakaway.

I told mom to wait there for a few minutes while I took some pictures. She was really busy skyping and catching up with a bunch of emails.

Last time I was in NY I went to the intrepid museum, it was a lot of fun going inside that Sub. I can't believe how tight they have to live there for months at a time.

I had also heard that the M6 balconies had not done too well with the bad weather. I always though these rooms are way too exposed. I think after the Silli cruise I don't think that ill ever book an FWD balcony ever again. They are just way to exposed to the weather.

Well anyway, the damage seemed pretty bad. And not only that but imagine if one of those panels hits someone? it might even throw them over board, you just never know. Let it be said that the balconies were fixed for the next voyage, but I really hope that they find a permeant solution to this problem and that they fix it for getaway!

You can tell there is substantial damage. Joeski took some better pictures, they might be floating around here. He reported that they closed access to the balconies the day before. They roped everything off.

Well I guess that is about it.

Disembarkation was very fast, nothing like the Silli terminal. We must of gone through it as fast as we could walk. After that we crossed the street and took a taxi to LGA. We had a really cool cab driver, very nice guy, we had a fun talking.

Our flight was not until later, so I purchased the 24/hr pass for internet and started posting the review.

Our flight home was uneventful.

I will post the conclusion later on.

We will see about the Breeze, I am really curious about the Breeze.

Hopefully you enjoy BREEZE more than I did. Way more misses than hits, and frankly I think I have just outgrown Carnival.

They have a drag cruise this year aboard MSC Divina, that might be an interesting trip. But I don't think ill bite.

I won a free cruise on MSC DIVINA (Facebook Contest) and I think I'm going to do the drag cruise. I believe it's 11/30. I won't be part of the group but it should make the cruise rather interesting. ;) My partner is even going to tag along, and he doesn't like cruises very much.

We will see, hopefully it is a great cruise. I am pretty easy going, but I do have my standards.

Hi Gambee - Great review and replies! I am unable to open any of the videos. This is one link you mentioned was a video: http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/qhoWP9cmZt0/mqdefault.jpg

When it opens it displays a picture not a video. Is there a separate site for videos?

The video is there, just click on the picture and the video should open. I just tried it and it works.

Often times the various cruise lines have contests on Facebook. First of course you need to "like" the company, then you will get all their updates on your Facebook page. Whenever there is a contest I enter it. Disney Cruise Line just had one, and there are several others going on right now (I think NCL, HAL, and one or two others). In the case of MSC Cruises, it was the "Diva Like No Other" contest, which was basically PR to introduce this new ship to the North American market. Anyway I won one of the grand prizes, which is a 7-day cruise for two on the DIVA in a balcony cabin, on any date from November to March.

Good luck!

Gambee once again you have outdone yourself my friend... an excellent review. I am going to test the settings you told me on my NEX camera to see how the photos turn out compared to just leaving it in intelligent-auto and go from there. :)

I'm fairly easy going too, but some things can't be overlooked. I did write a review which you can read at this link:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1793166

I didn't include many of the little things that bothered me as I didn't want the review to come across too negative (Carnival cheerleaders are a breed all to themselves!). At the end of the day I think I have just outgrown Carnival, and I believe you get what you pay for (the cruise was relatively cheap). I'm just glad I sailed on that one with my brother and not my partner or I may have never gotten him to take another cruise again.

From reading your BREAKAWAY review I gather you're not really into the shows. This will serve you well on BREEZE as they are probably the worst shows I have ever seen at sea. I was embarrassed for the performers they were so bad. Anyway you will still enjoy yourself as did I, as there are many things to like about the BREEZE. Besides, how bad can it be being on a nice new ship?

Well yes and no, you still have moderno, cagney's and la cucina that are far from that area. Ocean blue and wasabi have that open concept. Teppa is closed as is the inside area of Bistro. The noodle bar is completely open concept almost inside the casino.

To be honest it felt very nice, actually one of my favorite things now is bar food. Like the wasabi, the raw bar and the noodle bar. I never dinned in ocean blue so I am not sure if it takes away or not. But I will say that was one of things that I did not like about that venue, it is just to expensive to be that exposed.

Thanks! YEs, LOVE the sushi and raw bar idea, and teppanaki is family favorite. Just wondered about the more "upscale" restaurants... thxc

I remember reading your review a while ago. You did a fantastic job detailing your experience and I applaud you for your pictures as well!!

I am going on the Breeze with Gambee and we're super excited to try a new product. I think even though we realize that the shows aren't going to be our cup of tea, what we like best is the specialty/buffet type restaurants look fantastic and we have the choice of sooooo many if we don't feel like waiting/eating in the MDR. That being said... one of the BEST things about going on cruises is the fantastic variety out there. People's needs/wants differ. We've had many people tell us (individually to Gambee, individually to me) to not go, and that said many telling us to go. We're going in with an open and positive mind ^___^

Do all the water slides have these min/max weights or only the drop slides? (do you have to get weighed for EVERY slide??)

Thanks for all the great info!

I think so, I just took the pictures from what they had there, but I did not ask.

I want to say yes for the weight for every slide, but I might be wrong not sure.

Sorry I am not sure, I know I was weight almost all the times that I wanted to use the slides.

Cool, I follow a few lines, but I might just have to start liking all of them.

Thank you :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I truly try to be as objective as possible, but the bottom line is that you're writing about your personal experiences. Everyone's expectations are different so what may be great to one person could be severely lacking to another. It's what makes the world go round! LOL

Sounds to me like you have the right attitude. Go with an open mind and don't expect Celebrity, NCL, Princess, or Royal Caribbean. Experiencing new things is the spice of life, and if nothing else you will get to experience a new cruise line which is fun in itself. I recently returned from a Costa cruise, and half the fun was just experiencing how differently they do everything. It took a while to get used to, but I really enjoyed the diversity.

On the BREEZE, based on my experience in the MDR I would recommend avoiding it as much as possible. The staffing is at minimum and the food just so-so. Unfortunately the BREEZE doesn't have a lot of speciality restaurants as this just isn't Carnival's thing. They are much more traditional in that regard. None the less I promise you won't starve and there will be plenty to do. The slides are really fun and I loved the Serenity adults area, but getting a chair can be challenging. You also have an advantage over me as you have never experienced Carnival in the past. I have been cruising on them for years, so it was only natural I would compare the BREEZE to how things used to be on Carnival, and from my perspective it was a steep decline. You will have a much more open mind.

I hope you post your thoughts when you return, and who knows it may end up being your favorite cruise of all time!
