lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #77 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Thursday, January 11, 2018: Cozumel I woke up and went up to lido, but it was crowded so I just got a hot cocoa and headed down to the Ocean Plaza where I remembered that they serve a continental breakfast. I had some scrambled eggs and bacon, but I was bummed that they didn't have my breakfast of choice: cinnamon buns. I walked past the coffee shop and lo and behold, there was a complimentary cinnamon bun. I grabbed it and went back to the room. I watched a ferry load up with cruise passengers and leave for the mainland.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #78 Share Posted January 17, 2018 DH and I got off the ship around 11 a.m. and did a little shopping.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #79 Share Posted January 17, 2018 DH took the picture of me with the sign and the ships in the background. A fellow passenger asked if we wanted a picture together and I said yes! And DH said no! Lol! Needless to say, she took our picture. She took a couple (far away and close up) and I think they turned out well!
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #80 Share Posted January 17, 2018 We got back on the ship and DH went to Lido for a burger and I stayed in the room to order a sandwich from room service, but it was taking too long to get through on the phone so I went up to Lido and found DH at a table. I went to get tacos and Matt was in line for a burrito. He said "hi young lady" to me and asked how I was doing. I said good. DH and I both agree that Matt is very personable and goes out of his way to say hi to people which is probably why he makes such a great cruise director. I ate with DH and then tried the salted caramel churned ice cream. They had toppings, too.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #81 Share Posted January 17, 2018 After that we split up and I went up to Serenity for a bit. A lady had music playing on her phone under her lounger which I found mildly annoying. Then some lady asked if I could take her picture in a clam shell. I said sure and did and asked her if it was okay. She wanted another one so I took one more. THEN she asked if I could take one more showing the surroundings. Geez, was this some kind of photo shoot? I obliged. I sat back down in my clam shell and a few minutes later another lady asked if I were going to leave to let them know and that they would be in the hot tub. I was planning on leaving in a few minutes and when I left I walked past the hot tub, but they weren't paying attention, so whatever! I love the stairwell artwork on the ship. I got sick of waiting for an elevator to Serenity deck so I took the stairs instead and boy, was I glad I did because I got to see this: the Aurora Borealis! That is on my bucket list of things to see.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #82 Share Posted January 17, 2018 I went back down to the room, taking some pictures of areas of the ship that I didn't have pictures for yet.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #83 Share Posted January 17, 2018 I opened the door to the room and DH was just settling down for a nap. I went out on the balcony to read and write in my journal. I took a short nap myself and a shower before supper. A good shot of our cove balcony: These photos were taken from the balcony:

lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #86 Share Posted January 17, 2018 We checked in for supper and got a true table for two that was against a wall and not two inches from another table for two. Our head waitress was really sweet. Her name is Aidalyn. She chatted with us about our day. I had barbecue chicken and cheese flatbread, ravioli (my absolute FAVORITE) and WCMC. When I told her that the ravioli was my favorite, she told me that she would have ordered me a double. I laughed and told her that I was saving room for dessert. SOOO GOOD! lovestocruise19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #88 Share Posted January 17, 2018 After supper, we went to Deck 11 Aft overlooking the aft pool. We saw Harmony of the Seas leaving. After that, we went to the computers next to the coffee shop to get the 24 hour value upgrade for the internet because DH wanted to check his email for his work schedule. We had a little difficulty getting it to stick, but we finally made it work by using my name. After that, we were by the shops when DH told me there was a man down on the floor in Cherry on Top. There were a lot of white uniform officers there and then they blocked off the area and we saw them bring a stretcher up the stairs. We went back to the room to give them space. Back in the room, I looked at the Fun Times for the next day and noticed that the National Parks documentary was playing in the IMAX theater at 9:15 a.m. We went up to the Cineplex and reserved our seats. Back to the daytime towel animals. Because we were in our room later and didn't stay in port long, our room wasn't serviced during the day so no towel animal! :loudcry: After we reserved our seats, we went to Lido and I got a mocha chocolate getaway and DH got cookies and pizza. MNKEITH Posted January 17, 2018 #89 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Your pictures are great. They are getting me excited for our turn on the Vista in a few (6) weeks. How was the onboard music? It looks like the band is Sweet Soul Six, or The Cove Duo? Sent from my SM-G920V using Forums mobile app
lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #90 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Your pictures are great. They are getting me excited for our turn on the Vista in a few (6) weeks. How was the onboard music? It looks like the band is Sweet Soul Six, or The Cove Duo? Sent from my SM-G920V using Forums mobile app Sweet Soul Six played in the Ocean Plaza a lot. They were very good. I have a short video of them that I will post later. I also really enjoyed the string trio, Dolce. Triple Play was also very good, they are a brass group. I don't really remember the Cove Duo. I think they were just singers and not that great.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #91 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Friday, January 12, 2018 I woke up naturally at 8:15 a.m. I had set my alarm for 8:30 a.m. I went to Lido to get breakfast and it wasn't very crowded at all. I took a hot cocoa back to the room and drank it on the balcony. I woke DH and we headed to the IMAX movie about the National Parks. I enjoyed it. After that, we went to the shops for the t-shirt sale. However, we realized after I checked the Hub app that the sale was actually on Lido. We made our way up there and there was a mass of people. DH got angry real quick and left to go get some breakfast. I stayed behind and got another hot cocoa and watched the last few minutes of Matt's morning show on the big screen. I decided to go back to the sale since the crowds thinned out some. I grabbed two shirts for DH and two for myself. I got back to the room and thankfully DH liked my picks. lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #93 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Boo! I hate this "towel animal." It's not even an animal. I felt really jipped out of towel animals this cruise because we didn't get one the first day, we got this one the last day and we missed one during the week since we were still in our room and they did them during the day. So I only got three real ones on a six day cruise. :loudcry:
lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #94 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I ordered room service for lunch. I ordered it around quarter after 11 a.m. thinking it might take awhile, however, it came super quick by around 11:30 a.m. I had a turkey sandwich and the veggie platter. This picture shows the cove balcony from inside the room: Another sneak attack photo of DH looking with his binoculars:
lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #95 Share Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) I went up to Lido with DH at noon when he went to get his burger. I headed to the chocolate buffet! lovestocruise19 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #96 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I went to guest services to see if they had customs forms and asked a worker who was near the guest services line and she said 7:30 p.m. in the Liquid Lounge which made no sense to me. I went back to the room and checked in for our flight at 1:30 p.m. DH took a nap while I tried to figure out if we needed those forms by browsing online. I found a YouTube video stating that you do't need to fill out those forms anymore. Okay, weird. I went up to Cherry on Top a little after 2 p.m. and got one of those ice cream sandwich cookies. That thing was huge! It was a dollar off at $2 (normally it is $3). I took it back to the room to eat and then took a nap. I then went up to Lido to hear the steel drum band, but there was only canned music playing. Perhaps the Hub app was wrong. I went back to the room to read on the balcony and then took a shower. lovestocruise19 Posted January 19, 2018 Author #99 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We went to supper and I requested Aidalyn because I really liked her the night before. We learned that her husband also works on the ship and he is a chef. I had spring rolls, baked Ziti and Baked Alaska. The Baked Alaska used to be a flat, small piece and now it is much improved. I had my husband take a picture of Aidalyn and I!
