Just off the Splendor

The week was great. Food was good, cabins were wonderful, ports were really fun, my son loved club O2, even broke even in the casino. One piece of advice, bring something warm to wear. It was hot in Mexico but the sea days were down right cold. I'll answer any questions if you have any.

Thanks for the reminder. It's been hot on land but one should never underestimate the weather at sea. :) Last year I was thankful for bringing some warm clothes "just in case".

You mentioned that it was down right cold on sea days. Was this all day or just in the evening. Was it to cold to lay in the sun? What type of warm clothes do you suggest. I am on the Splendor in September and have never cruise out of Long Beach. I alway cruise to the caribbean or Hawaii.

Thanks Karen!

So, what did you do in each port?

Were the seas rough?

I heard y'all got back to LA late - what was the reason?

Did you leave some warm chocolate melting cake for the future cruises?

How was the nightly entertainment?

Was check-in and departure ok?

Thanks in advance. I may think of other questions, but this is a good start! :D

as in something warm..do you mean just a wind breaker or something

more substancial like a parka?

We're on Splendor in two weeks. My wife is taking a sweater or two and a pashmina shawl -- and one of her evening outfits has a jacket. She's also bringing a sweatshirt to wear if she's hanging out inside the ship during the day.

A pair of long pants/jeans/sweats wouldn't be a bad idea either. I always remind her that she's on an ocean-going vessel -- and safety is an issue. Warm clothing and good shoes are what we'll need if anything were to happen and we were called to muster stations.

Karen, thanks for the heads up about the weather.

I'm sailing November 22nd on the Splendor and have already booked our flights. On all the other cruises I've taken the ship would get in 7:00 or 7:30 and the first people were off by 8:00 or 8:30 so I booked the 10:45 flight out of Long Beach.

I was told today the ship won't get in until 9:00 so I'm kind of freaked out about catching our plane. When did you guys get in to port?

I was lucky enough to be on the Splendor last week too:) Check in and departure was the smoothest I have ever experienced. We self debarked and I did not even have time to slow down to get my sail and sign out! We were to the super shuttle by 8:40 ish and at the airport (LAX) by 10:25 after dropping a couple people off at Long Beach.

I only went to the first revue show "The Beat"... it was okay but I would not go to it again...
