Booking my next cruise onboard

I am going on Vision of the Seas next week. I have also planned a summer cruise, but I am holding off booking it until I get on board, as I understand they give some shipboard credit, or additional discounts if you book onboard.

Anyone know what these incentives are???

Interestingly enough, my next cruise will be on the Vision of the Seas also, to Alaska, so I can make sure we like the ship.

I asked that same question this week while speaking with a RCI resolution specialist concerning our Dec 1st cruise. I was told that we would get the best available price and a $100-$200 shipboard credit per stateroom. Was advised that if price ever went below our purchase price we would be refunded the difference. While on board we are going to book our April 22/Serendade of the Seas cruise. Have a great time on Vision!

In the past I've just booked any cruise while onboard if the cruise I wanted wasn't showing up yet, then transfered it to the cruise I really wanted when it became available. So long as you keep the same booking # you'll keep the credit. It's my understanding you can transfer to a different cruise only once.

I think we might do this when we board the Legend on 12/3. I'd like to book another cruise around the same time for next year. Our new little family holiday tradition. :)

Are they requiring you to put a deposit down when you book onboard? If so, how much? Is it a certain percentage?:confused: Thank you!

We booked this past September while on the Splendour for our cruise on the Serenade. The onboard credit for a 7 day cruise is $100.00.

Just a small piece of advice: Do your booking early in your cruise. There was a lineup on our last sea day to see the cruise specialist. No one wants to waste precious time on a cruise.

The standard downpayment must be paid. In our case, the charges were applied to the credit card we used for onboard ship purchases.

It's a little hard on the pocketbook when you get back but it does lessen the postcruise blues knowing you have another one booked.

A couple of points to remember. Have all your homework done before you book onboard. It'll make the process smoother and faster. Know the date, ship, deck and cabin you want. We had a $50 friends coupon which was accepted. And you can put your deposit on your RCL VISA for double points.

Actually, the most you can get is $200 onboard credit and that's for a 14 night cruise - I know because we just booked a 14 night cruise while we were on our 14 night cruise and the onboard credit is $200 - the maximum. We also got a $300 balcony discount for being diamond.

We booked onboard this past January and didn't pay the deposit until we got home and transferred the booking to our TA. We got a $200 onboard credit and a $200 discount for a balcony cabin. This was for an 11 night cruise. We also booked a 3 nighter at the same time and got a $50 onboard credit and no cabin discount because we didn't book a balcony cabin.

Crown & Anchor status has no bearing on the onboard booking benefit. The amount of onboard credit applied to the newly booked cruise is dependent solely on the length of the cruise. Anyone can book onboard and get this credit, even non-C&A members.

we were told yes by at least on loyalty ambassador. Unfortunately I've heard different answers to the same question asked of different RCI employee's.

Yes, you can. I have booked RCI from Celebrity and Celebrity from RCI.

This is great as I will be on my first Royal Carribean cruise in February and want to sail on Freedom of the Seas in Oct/Nov.

My question refers to the balcony discount. How does that work and do you have to sail on a certain amount of cruises with them before you get that discount?

the prices for FOS Oct/Nov. cruises are steadily rising, our promenade cabin is now $200.00 more than when we booked earlier this year, if you are thinking of booking the FOS maybe you should look into booking it sooner rather than later to get a good rate.
