KingsDude Posted December 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Hi all, I'm going on the Star on the 13th and was wondering what the odds behind the line are on NCL. Are they crappy 1x odds? I know last time I went on RCL, they gave you 2x odds on the last night only.. I'm hoping for better odds.. Anyone know?? Thanks!
Grandpaul Posted December 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2008 All NCL ships, you will be glad to know , have 3x, 4x and 5 x odds. I assume from the way your question is asked that you know what tha tmeans. NCL is the only cruise line I'll play craps on. Good tables. Of course, they are owned by the same company that owns Harrahs. Could have something to do with the odds. Makes for a lively table too.
rubytue Posted December 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Wow. It never occured to me they might only do 1x odds. Glad to know its reasonable. We love craps! Didn't know how to play it on our first cruise, but now it my husband's favorite.
Grandpaul Posted December 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2008 It's all I play. On my last cruise from Europe I was standing by the table watching and a dealer asked me if I wanted to play. I told him not at the odds they had. Double odds. Some guy next to me spent the next 10 minutes trying to tell me the odds don't make any difference. I wanted to get his name, open a casino and invite him to play.
newmexicoNita Posted December 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Actually in all my cruising days I have seen very few people playing craps period....Some tables are never in use. On our TA 3 years ago I don't think there were more than 3 or 4 ever playing, this is why hubby doesn't bother. It is about the only game he likes, but not on ships. One time, on the Sea the tables were busy and he played some (actually won a few bucks) On the Sun one cruise the tables were pretty busy the first and last nights. Grandpaul Posted December 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2008 When I'm on NCL I play every night and there's always someone else there at some pooint during the night. I actually like playing alone but it doesn't happen very often. Even on our Trans Atlantic cruise in October on an unnamed cruise line with lousy odds the table was active every night. On one night and two night cruises they are jammed. Of course, everything is jammed on those cruises.
Jeffffffs Posted December 12, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2008 I didn't realize NCL was affiliated with Harrahs...is the Total Rewards program linked to the NCL casino too?

Hubby only likes to play craps when the table is really busy and we have seen this rarely..As I said, sometimes the table is even closed down. On the Spirit last week one night there were about 6 or 7 playing. Nita
Grandpaul Posted December 12, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 12, 2008 I didn't realize NCL was affiliated with Harrahs...is the Total Rewards program linked to the NCL casino too? Not quite yet. There are a couple threeads here about that very subject. Some people are getting cruise credits and discounts from their Harrahs hosts. I haven't been to Harrahs for a little while, which is a record for me, so I'm not totally up to date on that. But I will be.

zetachi Posted October 9, 2009 #11 Share Posted October 9, 2009 bringing this dead thread back..hope no one minds. Craps being one of the only games I play, mainly because player has the best odds against the house. Last year on RCL, most nights the craps tables were full, esp the $5 one and all nights odds were 1x behind. Only one nigh was it increased to 2x, luckily for me it was one of the 2 nights I went to the casino and wound up walking away ^@$500 I've never seen more then 2x but as someone stated here it was 3 or 4x  maybe they were talking about some other odds but would be interested to know. Also IMHO the only time to play craps is with a full table adds a lot to the game it's more fun with a crowd.
CinAndTheCity Posted October 9, 2009 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2009 Wow, this thread was old. I hope they still have 3/4/5x odds (they did when I was on the Dawn 2 years ago and the Gem last year). On the Gem last year, the craps table was jumping pretty much every night. My fiance and I met some fun people there and we'd say "see you tomorrow" before leaving, and most of the time we did see them the next day! On the Dawn they had $5 minimum, on the Gem it was $10. Does anyone know if the Dawn is up to $10 min on the pass line now also? Thanks!
CRUZIN TOM Posted October 10, 2009 #13 Share Posted October 10, 2009 Yes NCL still has those odds. We were on the Star 2 weeks ago. Only 2 nights out of 6 they had more than 3 people playing the tables. I ewould have played more, but being the only one, I was giving more than taking.:)

Being alone would just speed up the rate of winning or losing. Also, it should be an advantage as you could control the dice and the speed of the game. Just wondering. BIG_Steve Posted October 10, 2009 #15 Share Posted October 10, 2009 What difference to the outcome would it make if you were alone at the table or with a group of players? Being alone would just speed up the rate of winning or losing. Also, it should be an advantage as you could control the dice and the speed of the game. Just wondering. It's Karma. Every Craps player, (myself included) knows that when a crowded table starts to pay well, the general all around positive vibes effect the dice. That's why it's a bad idea to play with more than 1 or 2 folks betting the dark side. In Blackjack, if you're doing good, you make a side bet for the dealer as a tip. Why? Because sliding a toke to the dealer changes your luck. If you're losing, slide him a tip. If you're winning, make a side bet. When I played baseball, I never-ever stepped on the foul line either. Go ahead and poo-poo. These are known facts in the superstitious world.
