pre-booking excursions for 11/20/04 Navigator

Recommended Posts

I have organized a family reunion on the Navigator for Thanksgiving week. Many of the travelers are 1st-time cruisers and are eager to explore excursion options. A few months ago, the RCCL site said excursions "for purchase" could not be viewed until April...now, however, after entering my booking number, etc it says no shore excursions available for this sailing, check onboard availability." Now I realize it's a holiday sailing, but all the excursions cannot possibly be full already!! I've emailed RCCL through the web site, but I'm wondering if anyone else knows what's up...I'm suspicious of a potential itinerary change...Any insights are appreciated!!

Welcome aboard PAGA! We are also booked on this cruise. I have not seen a roll call on the meet & mingle form. I guess it is time to start one. I am sure the excursions are not sold out, they probably just never updated them yet. I sure hope they are not having an itinerary change, we picked this one as my husband has never been to St. Maarten. Let me know what RCCL says.

Wow -- I got a fast response from my email inquiry to RCCL. Here's an excerpt from their resposne:

"We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience. Kindly note

that, the tours and pricing for the Caribbean are seasonal - and operate as

winter to summer. Brochures for winter 2004 - summer 2005 sailings are not

available.

However, most guests prefer to have something rather than nothing at all to

reference as a guide. The shore excursions are shown online through the "BROWSE

OPTION". The guest may review our winter 2003 - summer 2004 Caribbean

information, which became effective as of October 1, 2003 and expires on

September 30th, 2004. We update a few months prior and operate tours and prices

effective as of October 1st. The guest will have the opportunity to pre-book

tours through the online "PURCHASE OPTION†on the website with current pricing

sometime around the first or second week of August. Please try back then."

Paga, well that sounds better than an initerary change. Thanks. Just look at the browse ones then or better yet, go to the ports of call section and read up on the islands, you may be able to book some tours on your own for a better price for your group.
