Zelda911 Posted September 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2009 Not sure but have heard you need to watch taxi's in AThens try to claim rate is per person not car and can create quite an issue. Apparently some said keep your cell phone in hand there was some number you can call. It was on cruise critic some where.
CintiPam Posted September 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2009 Does anyone know the approximate cost of a taxi from the Acropolis Museum back to the port? Thanks, Robin It should cost no more than 20 Euros. We have been to Athens twice in the past year (and spent several days there both pre and post cruise), and have yet to find a taxi willing to use his meter for this seven-mile trip, for which locals pay perhaps 13 Euros. The meter scam is that rates are far higher between midnight and 6 AM, and the meter can be turned to the day rate or the night rate for the unsuspecting tourist. My advice: be sure to settle the price before you (or any luggage or packages) enter the taxi. Non rush hour, it's only a 20-minute ride.
