Us customs on star repositioning cruise sept. 20 from vancouver to los angeles

Hi, this cruise departs Vancouver, BC and goes to Victoria, BC before heading to Astoria in Oregon and finishes in Los Angeles. Does anyone know when one clears US Customs? Is it after returning to the ship in Victoria or before arriving in Astoria?

 

I am hoping someone out there has done a similar cruise and can help me with the answer.

The DW and I were on a similar cruise in September, 2007.

 

At that time, our first U.S. port was Seattle, and everyone had to clear customs. The procedure was similar to a disembarkation in so much that you will be assigned a number/color when it is your turn.

You would have to clear immigration at the first US port. Didn't you have to clear customs at your final US port, assuming the duty free shops on the ship were open during the cruise between the first and final US ports?

Thanks Tom & Sheryl that makes total sense. Have only cruised once before and we ended up at our home port in Vancouver. Have flown many times to the US and US customs is always cleared in Canada (as I'm sure you know) but didn't know what the procedure was on a cruise ship.
