beachprincess23 Posted September 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2009 Are there any beaches in Rhodes or Cyprus that are within a fairly quick ride from the dock?
Rare Hlitner Posted September 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2009 Rhodes has lots of good beaches and is a popular beach resort with many Europeans. The best beaches are a bit of a bus (or taxi) ride from town. One of our favorites is Faliraki Beach which is about 9 miles from town (there is a public bus route that can take you to the beach for only a couple of Euros). This beach has lots of facilities and real nice sand (hard to find in much of Europe). Hank
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2009 Whether or not you tr to do a beach in Rhodes do try to spend some time walking around the walled city which is located just a five minute or so walk from the Cruise Ship Dock. It's a nice place to walk around. Keith
ny4cruise Posted October 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Rhodes has some marvelous beaches very close to the port. Although we didn’t swim (the weather did not permit it) we saw many sandy beaches during our tour. On our way to Lindos we stopped at a place by the sea called Faliraki that seems to be very popular. There is a very nice beach near the Aquarium too. Also, visit the Old City. Very beautiful.
Morgans Posted October 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2009 Rhodes town beach isn't a very good one - rather gritty. Rhodes (the island) has some of the best beaches in Europe - try googling Rhodes beaches and you will see lots come up. The same with Cyprus - although again Limassol town's beaches are by no means the best on the island. Fig Tree Bay is lovely - further east. pete_coach Posted October 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2009 We saw lots of lovely beaches. I thought the ones surrounding Rhodes Town looked very nice. Be aware that many beaches are top optional. If this is offensive to you, be prepared.
