Exchange rate for dollars on the Ventura?

You certainly wouldn't get the best rate changing on board, though you would have the flexibility of only changing what you need.

And exchange rates are a bit of a gamble - who knows what the rate will be in Feb.

I would take the minimum amount you think you will need, then change as you go.

You can also draw cash in the Caribbean using your normal "hole in the wall" bank card. The ATM we used on St. Maarten gave us the choice of drawing euros, US$ or Eastern Caribbean dollars, and one on Antigua also offered US$ or EC$. You will find everywhere will accept US$, so just use them.

We have recently bought our $ for December, we use our local Co-op travel agent and buy small amounts (e.g.£30) at a time over a couple of weeks to make sure we get small notes. You will need plenty of $1 or $5 for tips, toilets, drinks, lunch, market stalls and so on. In addition to this, most shops will take credit cards for items over $10.
