Any one aware of the requirement to have yellow fever shots because we are going to the Amazon.

Oceania says that the government of Brazil require all visitors to the Amazon to have a Yellow fever vaccination certificate. Vaccinations must take place at least 10 days prior to arrival in the area. I called the tourist dept at the Brazil embassy in Washington DC and they say that Brazil does not require the vaccination but the cruise line may require it to reduce its liability. Anyone have the answer?

All TA's were notified by Oceania several weeks ago that yellow fever shots are mandatory..

Seems the ship needs to notify their passengers too about requirements. Would be a good thing for them to write it on the invoices that we get. Just the mention that visas may or are required and that inoculations may or are (in that case) required would be a good thing. Seems like alot of folks don't receive the proper information ( unless they have a great TA) ;-)
