Hello everyone, I have just logged on to this forum and am gradually finding my way round. My Husband and I are sailing on the QMII from Southampton to NY on Oct 23rd. This is our first experience of Cunard and are really looking forward to it. Tux and Frock are ready to sail and are counting the days . Are any of you on that cruise ? :)

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, on the right hand side is a pull-down menu that says Forum Jump. If you go to the 'Roll Call' section, and choose Cunard Roll Calls, you'll be able to find a 'Roll Call' for your voyage.

Enjoy the QM2 & Welcome to Cruise Critic!

We will be on the Oct 23rd Transatlantic as well, our 4th on QM2 and the excitement only grows the more. Please refer to the O.B.C. post just below as by following this thread you can obtain dollar credit at an advantageous rate i phoned Cunard yesterday (all in the thread) and bought onboard credit at $1.886.

Have a great time Champions gate you will have plenty (or not) to do.

Any help with the onboard credit or any questions please post again.

Fred & Sian.

Don't think so! She is for sale in London.

Did you mean QM2?

;)

I wondered how long it would be before someone found it irresistable.

Although to be fair this one is a change from the, 'Roman for ship Latin for Monarch' patronising drivel.

Shes being sold for £155,000 and is moored on the Victoria embankment, opposite the South Bank currently a bar/restaurant..my son has dj-ed (? i know) there a few times . Fantastic location, just a short stroll to anywhere, west end..london eye..westminster etc.

Dont worry Champions gate id rather be on ours crossing the pond.

First ship I ever sailed on - all the way from Glesca to the Kyles of Bute an back. Don't seem to be able to find her for one of those signature thingies though.

Thanks for the links, it looks like there are quite a few CC's on this sailing.

Our cabin is a B3 allocated on arrival at check-in. It says 'possible steel hull'.. what does that mean and will we be able to buy OBC without a cabin number ?

B3 cabins have sheltered balconies in the hull, rather than a glass-fronted balcony. We had one last time and thought it was great.

You will only need your Cunard number to buy the OBC, not a cabin number.

Our preference on an transatlantic crossing, close to the sea ,sheltered from the winds, larger than the glass balconies and very private.

O.B.C. Just quote your Cunard reference number (a mixture of numbers and letters) when you phone. The only funny thing when i phoned was they would nt tell me the exact exchange rate...i.e. dollar to the pound but said so many dollars cost so many pounds...but still a great rate.

Hi Champions Gate

Hope to meet you on board. I have an in hull balcony as well. Never had one before, but they seem perfect for a crossing IMHO. I usually have the lifeboat obstructed balcony. Now that those have been upgraded I'll probably be in hull more often.

Hope you found the roll call.

It was a liner, OK?!

J

Nothing could be finer

Than reclining in a recliner

When you’re sailing on a liner

On the Clyde.

But before you start gloating

It is very well worth noting

That you’re really only boating

On the Clyde.

As yer sailin’ “doon the watter”

Does it really really matter

If yer vessel is a liner or a boat

Jist enjoy ra Glesca Fair

As yer lettin’ doon yer hair

An’ hope the auld rust bucket stays afloat

Aye, it’s maybe no Cunard

But it shouldnae be ower hard

Tae huv herself a ball upon the Clyde

Where bein’ formal dressed

Means a brand new, clean, string vest

An’ a tasteful Nike shell suit fur yer bride

So tak a swig o’ Lanny

An’ huv yersel a sanny

Wi’ a great big lump o’ tasty auld square-slice

An’ as ye eat yer piece

Fu’ o’ a’ that lovely grease

At least ye’ll no be worried by the price

You’ll no need a Maitre d’

Tae serve ye wi’ yer tea

Or a cabin steward tae tend yer every need

Ye’ll sail through the Kyles o’ Bute

Then back up the Clyde ye’ll scoot

An’ by tea time ye’ll be in the Sarry Heid

A rhyming J

And kudos to Gari for setting the meter and theme!

Michael

Gari sets meters?

My electricity and gas bills are rather high. Can he please come and set mine? I think reading one unit for every ten used may be acceptable.

When Gari arrives upon his bike

No doubt, he sets where ever he likes.:)

Now you are talking about Grizzly. He was quite an imposing figure when he sat on his Harley wearing his lovely leather jacket. I am sure no one would cross him!
