Southwest $10 adder to early check-in

I was told-- by a few phone calls-- there there is no limit to the early bird.
At the moment.

The point of the last few posts is what happens when everyone wants Early Bird? Either WN has to raise the price to limit demand, or else limit supply. Otherwise, it becomes meaningless - although that doesn't stop some other low-fare airlines operating meaningless early boarding systems.

The way it was explained-- There is no cut off for "selling" the early birds. Seats will be given to the business class-- then to regular coach with first come first serve- these will be allocated 36 hours before boarding (although we cant see it until 24 hours)

the reason it is opened to everyone-- the people who need to book at the last minute should have the same option as the people who book as soon as prices come available.

This does not stop the whole families who book their seats and only one person pays for the early boarding and goes to save seats for the rest of their crew.

In our experience, when we have needed to book at the last minute minute on Southwest, we had to book business select. That also gave us a low-A boarding pass number. Recently, we have booked within 7 days and all fares are open!!
