Is there an aquarium?

We are leaving early in the morning on the Saturday before our cruise and plan to get to NO, check in, eat lunch, visit the port area and look around at the shops nearby.. we are also wanting to visit an aquarium before dinnertime and my boyfriend said that he believed there was a nice one nearby.. Does anyone know of one in New Orleans? How can I get more info on it?

Actually it is a very nice aquarium, if you have time, you can take the free ferry across the Mississippi for a look. :)

There's a really nice combo deal - Aquarium of the Americas with a riverboat trip on the James Audubon to the Audubon Zoo. We have a great zoo - complete with a very large cajun swamp area featuring swamp life with white tigers and white aligators.

We visited New Orleans this past Novemer and went to the Aquarium. We enjoyed it very much. They have a very nice indoor rain forest. We have a few pics on our picture page if interested:

Don't forget about the New Orleans "D-Day Museum". It's not far from the Aquarium.

You're so right! The D-Day Museum is a must for any history buff. I've been there twice, and it is truly amazing. My son (34) has been several times.
