Can you obtain a visa on board for excurisons in Egypt. Will be on a Costa cruise in December

This is a subject of much confusion, so a few months ago I started the following thread to reassure future passengers that they do not need to obtain an Egyptian visa in advance of their trip:

Just got back from an Equinox cruise. The ship took care of all paperwork to visit Israel and Egypt. In Egypt they had our Passport Stamped in advance and we had to show the stamp as we left the ship. In Israel they had a green Israeli boarding paper ready that we had to show as we entered or left the port area.

mv Crystal is a Louis Lines cruise ship. They are a small but growing Greek registered cruise line. They recently bought a fairly large(45000 toms plus) ship from NCL. You might want to try posting this on the other cruise lines threads where some people might have taken Louis lines cruises....
