AmoMondo Posted December 4, 2009 #27 Share Posted December 4, 2009 Got back from a long repositioning trip from Italy to South Africa (the long way round the West coats0. Had a great time and had a few other solo passengers at my dinner table that I got on really weel with and ended up doing ports with them. Overall had a great relaxing time as I expected (13 sea days out of 20). Got to know more people than I thought I would and loved Africa more than I expected. Weather was cooler than I expected though, especially the equator crosiing. This was my 7th solo cruise and I would not hesitate to do another on my own, although I've now come to the conclusion that although the amller ships don't have the wow factor and all the extras of the newer giant, long repositioning trips on them really are my favourite as you have more time to get to know many of the passengers and the crew and entertainers, which is really nice when travelling on your own.
